YHWH and Y'shua
- YHWH is the one true and Living God, and always has been. He is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4)
- YHWH created the universe and beyond in six literal days through His Word (John 1:3), which would eventually be revealed as His Son, Y’shua.
- The "Word" that YHWH spoke in Genesis to create the world was the same Word that He sent in John 1:1 to become flesh. This Word was Y'shua. He came down in person to teach us how to keep Torah, to fulfill/complete, to interpret it correctly, or teach us how to live it (Matthew 5:17).
- Y’shua is the prophesied Messiah of the Old Testament. He is the Son of God/YHWH,
creator of all things and sent by His Father to stand in the gap for Adam and all mankind. (I Corinthians 15:22) Y’shua is divine in origin and is YHWH (Isaiah 44:6, Revelation 1:8 and 22:13). - Y'shua is the Messiah's Hebrew name, meaning "YHWH is salvation." The Greeks called him Ieosus and the English then called him Jesus. The name Jesus is not an English equivalent to Y'shua. Y'shua in Hebrew is actually Joshua in English.
Salvation and Y'shua's Resurrection
- Keeping Torah is NOT required for salvation, but is only a living proof that we love Him. (I John 5:2-3)
- Through His death, Y’shua took back the High Priesthood, and because of His blood that was shed, the sin sacrifice has been met, and we now have the ability to come into the presence of YHWH – the Living God through the blood of the lamb. (Hebrews 9:11-12).
- The priestly system of sin sacrifices was done away with on the cross/stake because Y’shua was the sin sacrifice once and for all (Colossians 2:14-17).
- What was destroyed on the cross/stake was not the Torah but the list of our sins! The law or Torah of YHWH was never abolished just because He offered grace (Romans 6:14). Romans 3:31 says, “Does it follow that we abolish Torah by this trusting? Heaven forbid! On the contrary, we confirm Torah.”
- In order to have salvation one first has to understand that s/he has broken YHWH’s law/instruction/Torah and is condemned because of their sin out of the presence of YHWH (Deuteronomy 11:28, Romans 6:23). One must then repent, and accept the blood of Y’shua, and believe that only through the death, burial and resurrection of Y’shua is there salvation. We are only saved through the blood and resurrection of Y’shua.
- Walking with YHWH is best done with a community of believers who are also pursuing Truth and becoming more like Him daily. In a community there will be teaching, accountability, encouragement and support, as well as opportunities for the maturation of gifts of the Spirit.
Sin
- John 3:4 says, “Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah—indeed, sin is violation of Torah.” If we get rid of the Torah, we get rid of the ability to know what sin is. If there is no sin, there can be no curse. If there is no curse, then there was no need for the blood of our Savior Y’shua.
Keeping Torah
- Y'shua did not die to get rid of YHWH's Torah/instructions, but rather to set us free from the penalty for our sins (Matthew 5:17).
- Keeping Torah is NOT required for salvation, but is only a living proof that we love Him. (I John 5:2-3)
- Because we are still learning and because we live in the Dispersion, it is not physically possible to keep some of the Torah instructions until Messiah returns. But we believe it is extremely important to honor YHWH by keep His Torah as best we can. 1 John says that we prove we love YHWH by keeping His commandments/Torah. (1 John 2:3-4, 3:3, 5:2-3)
Millennial Reign
- Someday, our Messiah Y’shua will return to redeem all that are His, that have been grafted into Israel (Romans 11, Ephesians 2). Then He will reign from the New Jerusalem for 1,000 years. (1 Thessalonians 3:13, Revelation 20:4)
- After the 1,000 year millennial reign of Y’shua, YHWH will raise the rest of the dead and the entire earth will be judged at the Great White Throne of Judgment (Revelation 20:5). All those that do not have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be thrown in to the Lake of Fire and YHWH’s enemies will be no more (Revelation 20:11-12).
How To Live
- Believers today are to live the way first century believers lived; they kept the Torah as best they could through the Spirit of Y’shua the Messiah. They refused to replace YHWH’s instructions with anything that was a tradition or doctrine of man. Paul has been tremendously misinterpreted and misunderstood. All his writings actually support keeping Torah when we read them with the original Hebrew perspective.
- We are to be faithful to what He has called us to. To follow His Torah/instructions and to “love YHWH our God with all our heart, all our mind, and strength, and love our neighbor as our self.” (Luke 10:27, Deuteronomy 6:4)
- We are to study His word and obey His Torah/instructions as His Spirit teaches us. (1 John 2:3-4)
