B’shallach ~ After he had let go...
Sh’mot / Exodus 13:17 - 17:16
This Torah portion is about Isra’el crossing the Red Sea....
Sh’mot 15:1 cjb “Then Moshe an the people of Isra’el san this song to YHWH: I will sing to YHWH, for hie is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he threw in the sea.”
The Chumash says, regarding this verse...
“Then choose to sing”.... rather than SANG.
“The Torah uses the future tense - “will sing”. In the plain sense, the term means that upon seeing the miracle, Moses and the people decided that they WOULD sing. (and the Sages say this is talking about the people raised back to life in the end of days)... and others say that it is about people singing / Isra’el singing - even the ones who did not cross the sea... but us today.
Maybe it is also about seeing the problems in our lives and choosing to SING anyway. :)

TRUTH - #2
Review from last Shabbat ...
The name YHWH was taken out of scriptures about 7,000 times.
The term LORD means ba’al = any lord or master
Remember that the King James version of the Scriptures was published 2 years after King James kicked out the last Jews from England in 1609.
So....they were in an anti-semitic land... where anyone Torah observant had just been kicked out....
Do you think they were going to keep semitic and Torah words in the text??!!!
and...
Rav Nolan says...
“It is 2 or 3 languages removed from the... Hebrew, YHWH inspired originals
...and 1600 years down the road of ‘churchy tradition’.”
The King James was translated -- not just so everyone could have a copy...
which - isn’t that what you were taught?
That’s what i knew from history class....
“King James was such a nice and insightful king that he just that nice to help every home have the scriptures... Isn’t that nice...”
BUT the real reason was for the purpose of establishing control, and authority over a new denomination trying to pull away from Catholic doctrines of men.
Rav Nolan said... “History also paints a sordid picture of this particular king... which brings me to the conclusion that he was NOT a disciple of the Jewish Messiah.
I say all this to say... that most people think that the original New Testament / Brit Chadashah was written in Greek...
while it was truly written in Hebrew.
We have to consider that the Scriptures we read - especially the New Testament has been changed over and over... to where some of them now are apostate scriptures...
and we need to learn what that means ... particularly the modern christian translations... and we are going to learn why.
The Greek word - “apostia” = apostate... means
= “a standing away from”.
This is very important... the use of this word here. I learned it in this context from Rav Nolan.... and i am using it on purpose... Because i am not just saying they are “mistranslated”... i am saying that much of the Scripture than most christians read ... read apostate scriptures...
not “kind of messed up” or a little bit changed.... but a STANDING AWAY FROM TRUTH mess, which completely changes the meaning.
So you can see ... when i say “the apostate scriptures”... many of your translations... especially the New Living Translation and the New International Version
which are the most popular translations used by evangelical christians, are actually apostate renderings in the New Testament...
meaning they are trying to stand away from the TRUE record of the Renewed Covenant - both the plan of YHWH and the New Testament - either way you look at it.
*
The TRUTH.... is the TRUE record of the RENEWED COVENANT.... the Brit Chadashah .... and it is always...
... Pro - Torah
... Pro - Jewish
... Pro - Isra’elite
and it always paints an exemplary picture of Yahushua of Nazareth ...
... as a Torah observant Jew.
*
So let’s just go back a bit over some of the scripture of last week....
Galatians 1:6-7 cjb p 1452
“I am astounded that you are so quick to remove yourselves from me, the one who called you by the Messiah’s grace, and turn to some other supposedly “Good News,” 7 which is not good news at all! What is really happening is that certain people are pestering you and trying to pervert the genuine Good News of the Mashiach.”
Do you see how he warns us that there is “another gospel”... ?
and i suggest to you that “anther gospel” / “other good news” - is a gospel of lawlessness... which means Torahlessness.
*
Ma’sey hash - Sh’liyechiym - the Emissaries of Yahushua the Messiah /Acts 20:27-31 cjb p 1389
He’s saying... watch out... there are bunch of “savage wolves” among you ... they are coming from within the assembly...
and they “teach perversions of the truth.” !!
*
We talked about Marcion in the 2nd century and how he “edited” 10 of Shaul’s letters and the book of Luke.
Marcion did not believe in the Tanakh - (Old Testament)
Marcion did not believe in the Elohiym / God of the Old Testament - the Tanakh.
Marcion said - “that god was too harsh and a new god had come in the form of jesus who remained hidden until the revelation.”
Marcion also said that - this new god in the form of jesus was full of grace and mercy and Paul was his apostle how opposed the Law of Moshe / The Torah... and preached grace and mercy and no other disciple had the same authority as that of Paul.
Marcion published his New Testament text and he altered it to remove ... quote “Jewish corruption” end quote.
*
Last time we started talking about how the New Testament /Brit Chadashah says “law”, “law”, “law”... all over the place.... and when a typical unstudied person reads that they think it means the Law of Moshe - the Torah ...
We talked about the Greek words “ergon nomo” which means = works of law... traditions of men... and legalism. This does NOT mean Torah.
But again, it is translated, as Law being Torah.
We talked about Galatians 3:10 cjb p 1454
“ For everyone who depends on legalistic observance of Torah commands lives under a curse, since it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the Scroll of the Torah.”
The Renewed Covenant version says Gal 3:10 “For as many that are under the works of law are under a curse.”
Remember “works of law” - actually means what??
“works of the laws of men” - the oral tradition = traditions of man
= legalism!!
but...
The NIV and the NLT doesn’t say that...
in fact - they say something completely different.
Gal 3:10 NLT = “But those who depend on the law to make them right with god are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”
Gal 3:10 NIV = “For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law”...
and the NIV goes on to say in Gal 3: 13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law ..”
*
We also looked at
1 Yochanan /John 3:4 cjb p 1526
“Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah -- indeed, sin is the violation of Torah.”
SEE this... “sin is violation of Torah”.... so if we are not keeping Torah we are in sin...
So then.... if you say with the christians who read the modern translation of the NLT - you are saying... “those who depend on the LAW to make them right with God are under a curse”....
... you are saying... you don’t have to DO anything to be right with God.... just live however you want....
BUT...
You know what... i am ‘right with YHWH when i am not sinning... and
Yochanan tells us that if we are not keeping the WRITTEN law of YHWH - the TORAH - we are in sin.
Are lights coming on?
We can talk about how christianity says we don’t have to do anything but believe....
raise your hand or come forward... and be sorry for your sins and ask jesus to be LORD of your life...
BUT the reality is the WORD says over and over from the Tanakh to Revelation... we need to T’shuvah... to repent and /TURN and live as HE has instructed us!!
and they can say - well, how he instructed us .. and that means keep the 10 commandments...
and we talked about that... how the firs one - they ignore... that YHWH is God.... and they make 2 out of the 2nd one... and they
completely ditch the 4th one....
so and the rest - well they fit with any god....
so where does the “keeping” of them happen?...
We talked about reading Mizmor /Psalms 119... which talks about the goodness of Torah.
*
End of review....
Let’s talk about new stuff now.....
Let’s go to Torah...
D’varim / Deuteronomy 4:2 cjb p 200
“In order to obey the mitzvot of YHWH your Elohiym which I am giving you, do not add to what i am saying, and do not subtract from it.”
Moshe is giving the people Torah.... saying keep the commands/ the instructions... don’t add to or take away from....
and he goes on to talk about what happens to anyone who does add to or take away from the Word.....
... they were killed.
D’varim 4:2 gives us foundation...
D’varim 12:28 cjb p 212 “Obey and pay attention to everything i am ordering you to do, so that things will go well with you and with your descendants after you forever, as you do what YHWH sees as good and right.”
The foundation is continually being set... over and over... obey Torah.
YHWH never contradicts Himself...
D’varim 17:18-20 cjb p 217
The pattern is ... to keep the WORD of TORAH
... Obey it.
Do it.
D’varim 30:11 - 14 cjb p 232
“For this mitzvah which i am giving you today is not too hard for you, it is not beyond your reach... On the contrary the word is very close to you - in your mouth, even in your heart; therefore, you can do it!”
Y’hoshua /Joshua 22:5 cjb p 265
“Only take great care to obey the mitzvah and the Torah which Moshe the servant of YHWH gave you - to love YHWH your Elohiym and follow all his ways, observe his mitzvot, cling to him, and serve him with all your heart and being.”
Again - we see - no deviation from the pattern...
M’lakhim bet /2 Kings 17:13 cjb p 421
“... obey my mitzvot and regulations in accordance with the entire Torah....”
Still building on the same foundation...
*
Let’s look in the Prophets -
Yesha’Yahu / Isaiah 42:24 cjb p 501
“... didn’t YHWH, against whom we have sinned, in whose ways they refused to walk, he whose Torah they did not obey....”
Yirmeyahu / Jeremiah 9:13-16 cjb p 564
“Because they abandoned My Torah which i sent before them, and neither listened to what i said nor lived accordingly, but have lived by their own hearts’ stubbornness and by the ba’alims, their ancestors taught them -- therefore, says YHWH Tzva’ot, the Elohiym of Isra’el: I will feed this people bitter wormwood and give them poisonous water to drink, I will scatter them among nations....”
So that argument about ... “well in my heart i am worshiping jesus and i don’t have to keep Torah any more... b/c it says right here... You shall not worship according to your heart... and you shall keep Torah!
and NOTICE... he is the Elohiym of Isra’el and NOT some separate gentile entity called the church.
....And we are still seeing the same foundation being built upon....
Yechezk’el /Ezekiel 14:6 cjb p 653
“Therefore say to the house of Isra’el that YHWH Elohiym says, Repent! Turn yourselves away from your idols, turn your faces away from all your disgusting practices!”
- same story.... obey Torah...
Amos 2:4 cjb p 731
“Here is what YHWH says: For Y’hudah’s three crimes, no, four -- I will not reverse it - because they rejected YHWH’s Torah and haven’t observed His laws and their lies caused them to fall into error and live the way their ancestors did;”
-same story again... see the pattern??
Mal’akhi / Malachi 2:7-8 cjb p 787
“A Cohen’s lips should safeguard knowledge, the people should seek Torah from his mouth, because he is the messenger of YHWH- Tzva’ot. But you turned away from the path (agol / cycles of YHWH) you caused many to fail in the Torah, you corrupted the covenant of Levi, says YHWH Tzv’ot.”
(remember that word path in Hebrew means cycles of YHWH)
Hoshea 8:11-12 cjb p 715
“For Efrayim keeps building altars for sin: yes, altars are sinful for him. I write him so many things from my Torah yet he considers them foreign ( a strange thing).”
**
Let’s look in the ketuveim - the writings....
Mishlei / Proverbs 29:18 cjb p 988
“Without a prophetic vision, the people throw off all restraint but he who keeps Torah is happy.”
Nechem’yah /Nehemiah 1:7 cjb p 1131
“We have deeply offended you. We haven’t observed the mitzvot, laws or rulings you ordered your servant Moshe.”
Mizmor /Psalms 89:30-32 cjb p 881
“If his descendants abandon my Torah and fail to live by my rulings, if they profane my regulations and don’t obey my mitzvot, I will punish their disobedience...”
Mizmor 119:9-12 cjb p 912
**
You see... the Word always speaks from the beginning... it never contradicts itself....
...unless you read an apostate version and read the book from the back to the front. - (with a greek perspective).
Remember ... this is what serious, committed christians do who study christian commentaries and bibles like King James and NIV and NLT....
and so we need to have empathy for them...
and YET... as we said before....
....even if they just looked in the most basic study resource - Strong’s - and look up the words they are reading.....
....they would see that words are not translated correctly....and the verses don’t mean what they have been taught.
But they don’t look.... because it is hard to come to - what you thought was truth is NOT.
*
Let’s go to the RENEWED COVENANT... the New Testament.... and see what this has to say...
Mattityahu 5:17-20 cjb p 1228
Yahushua is laying down the Kingdom.... The first teachings he does is about the KINGDOM of YHWH...
From the time he came out of the wilderness and being tempted....
Mattityahu 4:17 cjb p 1227
“From that time on, Yahushua began proclaiming, ‘Turn from your sins to YHWH, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
We have to remember when we read this is....
the sefar Mattityahu was written....
by a Hebrew,
in Hebrew,
to a bunch of Hebrew Jews....
Greek thinkers say... “well it doesn’t mean that any more...”
BUT -- we’ve already established the foundation....
The Torah (first five books) say KEEP TORAH
The prophets say KEEP TORAH
The writings say KEEP TORAH
and so how do we approach Matt 5??
we approach it as a Hebrew....
who already knows YHWH says over and over and over and over...
KEEP TORAH....
and
TORAH IS TRUTH... SO ANYTHING THAT SAYS ANYTHING ELSE - HAS TO BE --- NOT TRUE...
So There is Yahushua saying... in
Mattityahu 5:17 cjb p 1228
“Don’t think i have come to abolish the Torah or the prophets...”
You can’t say - “i like the prophets but not the Torah”...
...because they are connected... if you lose one, you lose the other.
Mashiach says is...
“I did not come to abolish but to complete... to fulfill...
or better said...
“to interpret correctly”...
or...
... to “show you how to live it”
Somehow christians decided that “fulfill” - as most of them read... means to END.
but it really means - to be filled up with meaning
you can even find this in Strong’s - the easiest reference.
In the interlinear Bible Matt 5:17 says “annul” for the other translations =
“FULFILL” =
which is Strong’s # 2647 =
To dissolve, disunite
(what has been joined together), to destroy, demolish
metaph. to overthrow ie render vain, deprive of success, bring to naught
To subvert, overthrow
of institutions, forms of government, laws, etc., to deprive of force, annul abrogate, discard
So here Yahushua is saying... he didn’t come to do that... to overthrow or destroy or demolish or subvert or disunite or dissolve the Torah....
All we have to do is to just go back to what it said in the first place!!
*
Mattityahu 5: 17- 19
.... “until heaven and earth pass away”
Well, heaven and earth have not passed away....
....so the Torah - the law - still stands.
*
Matt 5: 19
“whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.”
so there are least and greatest ...
...all saved... but some have a lot of learning to do...
and not much testimony b/c the testimony comes when we obey Torah....
how he released us from paganism and idolatry and fornication...
Plus.... if there is going to be a “least” and a “greatest”...
....think about the BRIDE of YAHUSHUA!!!...
He will RE- marry the one no longer the adulterer .... remember ...
Yirmeyahu /Jeremiah 3:8 cjb p 549
“I saw that even though backsliding Isra’el had committed adultery, so that i had sent her away and given her a divorce document...”
If he will marry the one no longer the adulterer.....
....That would be the ones.... keeping Torah - not living pagan!!
so do you want to be a guest at the wedding... saved....
or do you want to be the bride??? !!!
Both are in the Kingdom ... we get to choose.
I know where i want to be.
*
Matt 5: 20 “Unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the torah- teachers and P’rushim....”
The scribes and Pharisees copied Torah...
They were copiers
they were traditionalists who walked in the traditions of man
You can’t just copy other people and you can’t just follow their traditions....
you can’t just sit in assembly and copy the person next to you....
your righteousness has to exceed the Pharisees...
*
I am saved/ purified by the blood of the Lamb - Yahushua.... but that is not all there is... i need to - not sin....
and what is sin?
I Yochanan 3:4... sin is Torahlessness.
Only Yahushua saves...
....but keeping the Law of Moshe - the Torah... keeps me safe.
Keeping Torah keeps me out of sin!!
Only Yahushua saves... but we want to be kept safe from the wrath to come.
So in Mattityahu 5 - Yahushua is laying down the foundation of His Kingdom... and HE clearly says.....Torah is not done away with.
*
Yochanan 7:19 cjb p 1339
Yahushua Mashiach said.....
“Didn’t Moshe give you the Torah? Yet not one of you obeys the Torah!”...”
What i learned in christianity is that--- the Jews are all bound up in the bondage of Torah....
Ideally every Jew knows.... that salvation is not by works but by relationship with YHWH... one keeps the Torah out of love and obedience.... b/c that is what YHWH asks.
BUT the reality is... another way to look at it is - Jews don’t just keep Torah... they follow the oral law of man.... phariseeism...
Remember D’varim 4 ?... do not add to or take away from....
Yahushua says... “you don’t keep Torah...”
Did He say Torah would be done away with ?...
.... that we’ve got this New Testament Grace?
....did he say.. “Jesus is in the house and he loves you so you don’t have to keep torah any more? !!! “
NO
Yahushua said what?...
- the Law of Moshe should not be broken....
He kept torah... he said he didn’t come to end it....
Jesus - or “the other Jesus” says that the law of Moshe is done away with....
but my uncorrupted - not apostate text says... NO.
so you have a choice...
which Messiah will you follow??
“Choose this day whom you will serve...”
Yahushua goes on in Yochanan 7:14-24 and says...
“you are angry with me because i made a man well on Shabbat?...
... “judge the right way” = with righteous judgment = according to Torah.
Does Torah say you can heal and help your brother any day of the week?
Yes it does...
So we see Mashiach upholding Torah.
and this is the Mashiach the Yahudim - the JEWISH - or HEBREW MESSIAH - the Jews are waiting for!!!
If we present the TRUTH - the true Gospel... about a Messiah who was Jewish who kept Torah..... this is what they (the Jews) will come to.
They know Torah ... they know the foundation.... and they know the foundation does NOT change....
This is why when i was working with that Jewish family at hospice... that the impact was HUGE on them when i said....
“...The Messiah i serve - his name is Yahushua... he kept Torah and i keep Torah.”....
had such an impact on them...
b/c they know the TRUTH - from which Messiah comes!
HE is YHWH and HE is the Living Torah.
They know the Torah!
So do you believe in a Messiah who keeps Torah??
**
I want you to look up 2 scriptures...
Luke 11:27-28 cjb p cjb p 1308
and
Sh’mot /Exodus24:7 cjb p 87
Let’s start with:
Luke 11:27-28 cjb p 1308
“As Yahushua was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice to call out, How blessed is the mother that gave birth to you and nursed you from her breast. 28 But he said, Far more blessed are those who hear the Word of YHWH and obey it!”
You gotta Sh’ma the Word and KEEP it.
That ties in with
Sh’mot 24:7 cjb p 87
“Then he took the book of the covenant and read it aloud, so that the people could hear; and they responded, Everything that YHWH has spoken, we will do and obey.”
Doing - Sh’ma is how Hebrew defines belief...
Do youou do what you believe?
It is not about what you know - or even what you understand...
It is about how you live... what you do.
a Greek defines belief as a mental ascent - “I believe”...
they may even say... “I believe the Torah is still standing...”
as they break the Shabbat and eat the unclean.
“I believe i should keep the 10 commandments” as they do sunday sabbath...
Your belief is demonstrated by your actions...
.... not by what you say,
.... or even what you mean.
~
Rav Nolan said...
“The Jesus preached by the apostates say ... all you have to do is say with your mouth... you know, come forward when everyone’s got their eyes closed and confess with your mouth and you are good to go... and you don’t really have to do anything ... but come back next sunday and pay 10% religious tax.”
Well, that is not what the Word says.
No
You cut a covenant - and you better make sure you are walking between the halves of the dead animals...b/c if you don’t - death happens to you.
Once you cut covenant... that means you have something to uphold... to DO.
*
Mattityahu 5: 18 cjb p 1228
“Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah - not until everything that must happen has happened.”
Luke 16:17 cjb p 1315
“But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter in the Torah to become void.”
a “stroke” - or tittle... is a marking that Moshe put in the text to give us more teaching...
and not even ONE mark has gone away....
So how did the 4th commandment of keeping the Shabbat get done with?
How did they nullify or get rid of a whole chapter in Vayikra /Leviticus - 11 and another in Vayikra 21 - on what is proper to eat and not to eat?
How did they get rid of D’varim 13:1-6 cjb p 212
.... basically = if somebody comes along and even if they do miracles, signs and wonders, but they lead you away from the commandments -- they are a false prophet!
How did this get thrown out??
Yet we have christian teachings of jesus doing signs and wonders and that “he came so we don’t have to keep Torah”... this jesus has lead them away from Torah and YHWH...
D’varim says if anyone comes along... no matter how amazing... if he tries to lead you away from one commandment.... he is a false prophet.
... a wolf in sheeps’ clothing...
from within your assemblies.....
but in christianity... their jesus does signs and wonders and miracles... but you don’t have to keep the sabbath any more and you can eat unclean....
hmmm... something is very wrong...
This brings up the whole “name thing” again for me...
I’ve been reading some Thomas Horn... who explains a lot of science and history of what is going on in our world... based on the WORD....
... and he talks about how the Greek gods are probably - based on a lot of research - are the fallen angels who had sex with the daughters of men and the Nephalim were created.
One of them - a major ones were Zeus, Apollo, Demeter, Isis and others...
and we know jesus actually means haZEUS..... and people pray in this name!
We also know that Zeus was associated with the sky, the prince of the air, and the biblical fall of Lucifer....
Does it not make sense to you?
What does hasatan do ??
-he twists the TRUTH with lies....
So what name would Yahushua get “changed” to - when it never should have been changed in the first place (based on linguistic rules of translation.)
You can tell me - “Well, i don’t MEAN Zeus.”
Yep, and the people that were going to worship YHWH at the golden calf... meant to - Aahron even said... we are going to worship YHWH here.... and what was YHWH’s reaction??
Do you think a name matters??
Yahushua even said twice in Yochanan /John 17:6 and 26 cjb p 1353
26“I made your name known to them, and I will continue to make it known.”
That was one of his purposes for coming!
*
Yochanan 7:16 cjb p 1339
Yahushua says... “My teaching is not my own, it comes from the One who sent me” ... or better translated... “it comes from the Torah.”
Yahushua of Nazareth does not speak his own words...he speaks only the words of YHWH who sent him... whom HE is.
Those words are not new words
those words are not different words...
the words he spoke were Torah.
Do the research... look at what the Mashiach said... and see where it came from - he almost always is just quoting Torah!
Yahushua spoke YHWH’s commands...
I was taught in christianity that Messiah didn’t like the pharisees....
well, he challenged them alright... but not for what i thought...
I thought it was because Torah was done...
BUT if you read the book - Yahushua kept Torah and the only things he challenged the pharisees about were the oral traditions - the traditions of man!!!
