Torah Parashah Ki Tavo - “When You Come”
D’varim 28:1-2
p 158
“And
it shall come to pass, if you shall listen diligently to the voice of YHWH Your
Elohiym to shomer (watch, keep, observer, or guard), and to do all His mitzvoth
(YHWH’s Commandments, or man’s obedient deeds, or obedient works of Torah done
in complete submission and willingness), which I command you this you, that
YHWH your Elohiym will set you on high above all the nations of the earth.
And
all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you if you shall listen to
the voice of YHWH your Elohiym.”
D’varim 28: 9-10
“YHWH
shall establish you as a kadosh people in Himself as He has sworn to you, if
you shall shomer the mitzvoth of YHWH your Elohiym, and have your halacha in
His halachot.
And
all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the Name of YHWH; and
they shall be afraid of you.”
D’varim 28: 13, 15
13
“.... IF you listen to the mitzvoth of YHWH your Elohiym, which I command you
this yom to shomer and to do them:
15
“But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the ovice of YHWH your
Elohiym, to shomer to do all His mitzvoth and His chukim that i command you tis
yom, that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you.”
D’varim 28:45-47
“...
because you listened not to the voice of YHWH your Elohiym, to shomer His
mitzvoth and His chukim which He commanded you;
And
they shall be upon you for an ot and for a wonder, and upon your zera
le-olam-va-ed.
Because
you did not serve YHWH your Elohiym with simcha, and with gladness of lev, for
the abundance of all things; “
D’varim 28: 58
p 160
“If
you will not shomer (watch, keep, observe, guard) to do all the words of this
Torah that are written in this scroll, that you may fear this glorious and
awesome Name, YHWH your Elohiym.”
**
I find it very interesting that Emet
Ministries sent out a short teaching this week entitled:
“STOP asking Jesus into your heart.”
Daniel Rendelman goes on to explain ...
“Y’shua never told anyone to “accept Him
into your heart and you will be born again.”
-- Wow is that a game changer!!
-- We’ve talked many times before -
about how “the sinner’s prayer” is NOT in the Word - nor is there anything like
it in the Torah.
Well if -- “Y’shua never told anyone to
“accept Him into your heart and you will be born again.”
Let’s look at what HE did say...
Mattityahu 19:15- 30 p 694
*
Keep in mind that where our RSTNE
says “large rope” it says “camel” in many English translations.
In the Aramaic English New Testament edited by
Andrew Gabriel Roth (AENT)...
= The ‘heavy rope‘ - “gamala” refers to a “heavy rope”, rather
than a “camel” which is also spelled the same.
Dr
Roth goes on to say....
“Y’shua
is clearly not saying a rich man can’t enter (the Kingdom), or Y’shua would not
“love” this one!
The
“heavy rope” lesson teaches about a rich man entering into heaven after he
“unravels” his fortune strand by strand
- as Y’shua instructs.
--- If
his wealth was bound tightly and strong like a rope, it is to be unwound like
threads which pass through the eye of
the needle! Careful attention is required
to thread a needle; so are the rich obligated unto YHWH for how their wealth is
acquired and dispersed. (US? -We are wealthy compared to most of the
world.)
(
By the way ... “Theological attempts to “prove” the eye of the needle to be a
geographical location have utterly failed.”)
~~
Also -
THE note - in Mattityahu 20:15 in the AENT says...
“Equality and Justice are the universal
domains of Mashiyach for the common good of all, but the servant in this case
judges according to self interest.”
= This is what we talked about last week
- the eytz of the da’at of tov and
ra! = The tree of the knowledge of good
and evil....
-- and eating it took Man from a place of
walking in the Truth of YHWH and not lies... to “whatever i decide”.... what is good or evil.
*
** And please note -- the foot note in the RSTNE
regarding 19:17-18 where Y’shua lists several commandments....
-Traditional
Hebrew thinking teaches that when someone sights part of a passage - the
teacher and the student know... they are
referring to entire passage.
So
Y’shua wasn’t saying - as most people interpret - that these are the only commandments
you have to keep (!!) .. He is bringing up examples of the Commandments - thus
- referring to ALL of them.
-
And this makes sense when we
understand :
-
Mattityahu 5: 17-20 RSTNE p 60
17“Think
not that I am come to weaken, or destroy the Torah, or the neviim
(Prophets): I have not come to weaken,
or destroy, but to completely reveal it in its intended fullness.
18 For truly I say to you, Until the current
shamayim (Heavens) and earth pass away, not one yud (smallest letter), or one
nekudah (a point or mark in Hebrew writing), shall by any means pass from the
Torah, until all be fulfilled.
19 Whoever therefore shall break, or weaken one
of the least Torah commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the
least in the malchut ha shamayim (Kingdom of Heaven); but whoever shall do and teach the commands,
the same shall be called great in the malchut ha shamayim (Kingdom of Heaven).
20
For I say to you, Except your tzedakah (righteousness) shall exceed the
tzedakah (righteousness) of the Sophrim (Judges) and Prushim (Pharisees), you
shall in no case enter into the malchut ha shamayim ( Kingdom of Heaven).”
He didn’t come to weaken or destroy
Torah.... but to bring it to fullness...
and He goes on to say that
“19
Whoever therefore shall break, or weaken one of the least Torah
commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the
malchut ha shamayim (Kingdom of Heaven);
but whoever shall do and teach the commands, the same shall be called
great in the malchut ha shamayim (Kingdom of Heaven). !!!”
**
So....
Here’s the Messiah teaching that LIFE
- begins with the proper use of the
commandments - or instructions - Moshe gave... to show us how to live.
In Torah - a single violation of any of
the instructions meant the person was sinful and deserving of eternal death....
But remember - In B’re’shiyt (Genesis
15)... Where YHWH made the Covenant of Promise?
The
animals were cut in half...
Those
parties making covenant had to walk between the halves...
So
who walked between them?
YHWH
caused Avram to go into a trance...
and
the Smoking Furnace (YHWH) walked between them... and
so
did the Light = Y’shua haMashiach (the Messiah)
This
is where Y’shua basically said... when they don’t keep the instructions and
they break the covenant - I will die in place of them.
But until Y’shua came to reinstitute the
priesthood of Melchizedek... YHWH had
people sacrificing animals for sin....
Although sacrifice never saved them - it
just kept the penalty at bay!
~~~
So what does the Tanakh say about
salvation?
From our Torah Parashah today:
D’varim 27:26 RSTNE p 158 “Cursed is he that confirms not
all the words of this Torah to do them...”
CJB says
it clearer -
“A
curse on anyone who does not confirm the words of this Torah by putting them
into practice.”
What
does that mean - “ Curse” - ARAR in Hebrew
The Etymological Dictionary of Biblical
Hebrew says
aleph-resh-resh
= Isolate and bring to ruin,
and
- to weaken internally.
-
isolating and cursing.
Tehillim (Psalm) 40:6-8
p 509
“6
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; but a body You have prepared for Me
, burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
7
Then said I, observe, I will come: in the volume of the scroll it is written
all about me,
8
I delight to do Your will, O My Elohiym; yes, Your Torah is with My lev
(heart).”
One
of the things we need to know about this verse... is - look at foot note #8 in
RSTNE....
it
says in 40:6 “”a body you have prepared for me”... as properly quoted again in Hebrews 10:5 and
verified by the Dead Sea Scrolls. This
verse speaks of a man who has a special body prepared for Him by YHWH, to come
to earth b/c the scrolls of Torah testify of Him. Now if you don’t believe Y’shua is Messiah -
then you don’t want it to say that!....
So they changed it to say... “you opened my ears” !!
So we have to note foot note #9 that
this verse
40:6 is from the LXX, Dead Sea Scrolls
and Renewed Covenant.
*
Yochanan (John) 5:46
p 759
“For
had you believed Moshe, you would have believed Me; for he wrote of Me.”
Yochanan 5:39
“Search
the Keetvay HaKadosh (The whole of the Scriptures) for in them you think you have eternal chayim
(life); and these are those, which testify of Me.
Luke 24:27
p 752
CJB - “Then, starting with Moshe, and
all the prophets, He explained to them the things that can be found throughout
the Tanakh concerning Himself.”
Luke 24: 44-48
p 753
(Read
it from AENT p 230)
At the RED SEA....
Sh’mot (Exodus) 14:13-14
p 59
“And
Moshe said to the people, Fear not, stand still and see the Y’shua of YHWH,
which He will show to you today: for the
Mitzrim whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more
le-olam-va’ed.
YHWH
shall fight for you, and you shall stay still.”
*
-
What did the Ami Yisra’el see?...
They
saw that they were delivered from the hand of their enemy
AND
they saw that their enemy was destroyed.
This is the foundational definition of
salvation -
That
the Ami Yisra’el will be delivered from the hand of the enemy and
That
the enemy will be destroyed!
**
But wait.... there’s more....
I Yochanan (I John) 3:4
CJB “
Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah - indeed, sin is violation of
Torah.”
RSTNE p 832
“ Anyone who commits sin violates torah, for sin is the transgression of the
Torah.”
-
Interesting that this is after
Y’shua’s life, death and resurrection... and here it says...
-
“Sin is violation of Torah.”
**
So Janet, what are you saying??....
~~
Yakov (James) 2:17-20
p 811
AENT p 430
AENT foot note:
“The Hebrew word for --
a righteous soul = tsadiq,
righteousness = tsedeq;
justified = tsadaq
notice
they are the same word.
“A soul without righteousness can never
be “justified” regardless of what the theologians claim.
The original root word for “justified”
relates to action.
However, mainstream Christianity teaches
that a person is “justified” solely on the merits of the belief in Y’shua, and
that observing Torah is impossible.
Even in Ya’akov’s day, some individuals
wanted cerebral belief to “justify” themselves, which is impossible.
Y’shua’s person (example) and Spirit is
meant to literally be imparted into us; This
most be evidenced by our actions, otherwise we do not belong to Him.
Theological, or cerebral “belief”
without works, is dead religion, but active literal Faith comes to life in
Mashiyach.”
“Torah observance / obedience is clear
evidence that we have passed from death to life.”
See
Yochanan 5:29 p 759 RSTNE
“And
shall come forth; they that have done tov, to the resurrection of chayim
(life); and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.”
Mattityahu 7:23
RSTNE p 682
“And
then will i profess to them, I never knew you, depart from Me, you that work
Torah-less-ness.”
The AENT says.. “you workers of
iniquity!”
And
Dr Roth explains - “Workers of iniquity” is a common phrase in the Tanakh. Iniquity is lawlessness (without Torah)
Tehillim (Psalm 119:53 p 540
(-
read the whole chapter!!)
“Horror
has taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake Your Torah.”
~
-“Each and every teaching of Y’shua is
based on Torah. To be anti-Torah is to
be anti-Mashiyach; therefore every
“authority” will be judged according to whether they uphold Torah or not.
According to Y’shua, Torah is “the will
of My Father” in Mattityahu 7:21 and
12:50.”
“Torah
means = instruction in righteousness.”
~~~~~
In
Acts 2:37-41 (p 306 AENT) Keefa (Peter) preached both
repentance and immersion in the name of Master YHWH -Y’shua.
In this verse (YHWH) MarYah and Y’shua appeared right next to one
another, therefore, we know that it is the Spirit of YHWH in Y’shua Who
ultimately provides Salvation. (ECHAD)
- Repentance and immersion...but this is
done in order to receive the gift of Ruach haKodesh (set apart Spirit).
“The work of the Ruach is to write Torah
in the inward parts, which is confirmed by the appearance of “fruits” of the
Spirit”
Repentance means “turn (re -turn) to
YHWH
-which also means to turn FROM sin and
keep the Commandments
Hebrew it is Shuv - Teshuvah = returning
to YHWH ‘s instructions
Y’shua is clearly teaching that the
first prerequisite for salvation is keeping the Commandments.
***This is not - just stop doing
“that”... it is stop and RE-TURN to YHWH’s agol/ paths, instructions - TORAH!!
This
is exactly what we are supposed to be doing right now as we prepare for the
fall Moedim.

even his prayers shall be an abomination....

“If you shall listen to the voice of YHWH your Elohiym, to shomer His mitzvoth,
and His chukim which are written in this scroll of the Torah, and if you turn
to YHWH your Elohim with all your lev, and with all your being...”
“Turn to YHWH - is actually “shuv”
Shuv - Teshuvah - is not just recognizing you are doing
something wrong.. it is stopping doing that,
repenting and RE-turning to YHWH’s instructions.

2 HOUSES:
Yechezkel (Ezekiel) 37 p 423 RSTNE
The
first half of the chapter is talking about dry bones living....
Yechezkely 37:16-28
Northern and Southern Kingdom....
The full Besorah of Y’shua
- is about restoration
restoration of the Bride =
the 2 houses of Yisra’el....
- the lost sheep!...
In that process - not only
are the sins of Yisra’el (being pagan,) forgiven... and the sins of Yahudah
forgiven for rejecting Messiah...
but our own individual sins are forgiven -
if we Teshuvah - by the blood of Y’shua...
Like the blood of the Red
Heifer prophesied.
His blood washes us clean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
People talk about being
saved by grace...
Yes - i don’t deserve
it... but grace is more than something i don’t deserve...
-Grace
is the gift of the Ruach haKodesh that empowers us to keep the Commandments of
YHWH by Emunah!
~~
“In order to please our Creator, we must
place our trust in Mashiyach Y’shua who teaches :
-
Mattityahu 19:17
“If
you desire to enter into life, keep the Commandments.”
**
YHWH’s people:
Gilyahna (Revelation) 12:17 p 919
“And
the dragon was angry with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of
her zera (seed), that shomer (keep) the mitzvoth (instructions) of YHWH, and
have the testimony of Y’shua haMoshiach.”
Gilyahna 14:12 p 921
“Here is the endurance of the Yisra’elite kidushim (holy
ones); here are those that shomer (keep)
the mitzvoth of YHWH, and the emunah (faith) of Y’shua.”
Gilyahna 22:14 p 927
“Blessed are they that do His mitzvoth that they may have
the right to the eytzim chayim (tree of life), and may enter in through the 12
gates into the city.”
gates? - who?... go in the gate you belong to....
what city? -
=the NEW Jerusalem... = CHAYIM = LIFE!
