Seeing the Spiritual in the Natural

Seeing the Spiritual in the Natural

Seeing the Spiritual in the Natural - Harbour Light Ministries

B’re’shiyt/ Genesis 1:1 –
We know based on the 1st verse of the Bible – that Creation was a done deal – a finished / completed work, done by one… the Aleph Tov… Yahusha…

B’re’shiyt 1:2
The earth became – tohu vavohu (a waste, wilderness, confusion – shockingly confused) = what hasatan does to the “seen.” Darkness …. And YHUH’s face (al’p’ney = focus, face, presence, countenance)  is on the deep and so there is vibration/ frequency….  T’hom – a great noise!
And “The Spirit of YHUH moved ( move, shake, hover) - upon the face of the waters.”  - more frequency

1:3 = the Ore  = light, fire, air = more than just light

          **
Rabbit trail - Dr Monzo talked about

                    Solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.
Another word for plasma = ether.    (All the greats – Tesla, Maxell and others believed in ether, except for Einstein.)

Ether eventually becomes light
          **

1:4 Divided light and darkness

1:5 Ore = day and darkness = night
Did his work and then there was evening and then morning – the light came and that was the end of the first day.

1:6 Firmament

1:7 waters divided under and above the firmament

1:8  firmament = “heaven” – end of second day

1:9 waters gathered à and dry land appeared

1:10 naming dry land Earth, and gathering waters

1:11 grass, herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth…”
L’miymo – in this verse =  “after his kind” = “like produces like” – what comes forth can not be different from what it came out from.

1:12 it was good

1:13 3rd day

1:14 lights in the firmament – for signs and seasons, days and years.

1:15 it was so

1:16  - 2 great lights and stars

1:20 – moving creatures in water

1:21 – created great whales and every living creature that moves in waters and birds

1:22 YHUH blessed them saying “Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the waters in the seas and let fowl multiply in the earth.”

1:24 – living creatures on land
1:25 the beast of the earth – after it’s kind and the cattle after their kind and everything that creepeth upon the earth – good

1:26 Adam is made in Yah’s image

1:27 – “male and female he created them
1:28 Yah blessed them and said – be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish and birds and living creatures on the earth.

1:29 He gave every herb bearing seed and tree to us – “it shall be for meat”

Assignment: watch the movie Biggest Little Farm to see how many things are said and done that line up with Scripture. How many things they are talking about in the natural - also speak about the Spiritual!

B're'shiyt/Genesis 1:26 + Renewing Your Mind

B’re’shiyt 1:26     - Brad Scott’s B’re’shiyt Teaching
Renewing Your Mind

study guide p 63

B’re’shiyt 1:26
CD 13  27:22
Creation has been going on - and now we come to the climax of creation - the creation of “man”...

B’re’shiyt 1:26
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth on the earth.”

Vay-yo’mer Alohiym na’she ‘adam b’tsal’menu kid’meutenu.  V’yirdu vid’gat hay-yam uv’oph hash-shamayim uvab-b’hemah uv’kal ha’aretz uv’kal – harems  haromes ‘al – ha’ aretz, na’seh.

Word for word:

“And said  Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness.  Let them rule over fish of seas and the birds of the heavens and over the cattle and over all the earth and over all creepers creeping on the earth.”

At this point- spirit/soul - in image of YHUH = and no bodies yet the ones he created....

Na’seh (the last word) = let us make

-   the prefix “N” makes it plural
-   aseh = to make
-   make is in verse 26 and CREATE in verse 27

The  various theories of “Let us make”:

1.Trinity  - ECAD= a unity / a union of things makes a oneness (The only way to get “trinity” out of this is to insert it!
2.  The angels - Yah is referring to self and the angels.
3.          Plurality re. Majesty - the King speaking for the entire kingdom would say “we believe”...  like I say “we” in Life Fit.
But we also know that he created “them” with him...
= the majestic declaration of something that is going to  take place in the earth!
4.  Animals – blood
5. God and the angels

The ONLY thing created in the image of YHUH - not the ground.

B’tsal’menu   = tzad- lamed- mem =
Root = Tselem;  to shade, to cover, shadow
                    : image, form

-    Modern Hebrew word for photograph
-    After B’re’shiyt 9:6, every occurrence of this word is “idols”

Discuss B’re’shiyt 5:3

The only entity created in Alohiym’s image is Adam/ “MAN” / mankind.

Hasatan will seek to destroy the image, since the image is to reflect and represent Alohiym,

IE - good things of Yah.... Father, mother, goodness, kindness, meekness, etc...
....Hasatan changes the image of things....twists what Yah intends to be awesome into a mess in our world.

Messiah had to come to earth in the image of man.... because man is the only thing that Yah made IN His image!

Only an obedient child can reflect and maintain the image of God/Alohiym.

His image is blurred and perverted when His own children fail to imitate Him.

Only you are the image of Alohiym.  Only those who obey Yah can reflect that image!

In Greek:
          -eidolon (GK) – idols
          Acts 7:11; Romans 2:22;  2 Corinthians 6:16
-    Eikon (Gk) Romans 1:23, 8:29;  I Corinthians 11:7;  2 Corinthians 4:4, Colossians 1:15;  Hitgalut 13: 14-15
-    Tupos (Gk)  - Ma’sey hashSh’liyechiym 7:43-44; Titus 2:7; Ivrim 8:5;  I Kefa 5:3

Skip Moen =
“Tselem = masculine noun (image)  = about transferred authority and order, over what destroys.

= desire (need) authority (control) and chaos. To be in YHUH’s image and likeness is to desire to control or have authority over chaos.
 – This reflects the Prime Directive to be fruitful and multiply.
We are like YHUH in our derived authority because we are designed to bring life ordering actions in the house, but our authority is limited - (we are not YHUH).”

Kid’mutenu:   dalet – mem- tav
root =d’mut-damah:  to be like, copy
           likeness, similitude, to be like
D’mut pictograph = path, chaos, nail, seal

-    B’reshiyt 5:3, Yesha’yahu  14:14, 40:18; Y’chezqel 1:13;
Daniy-y’el 3:25 (Chaldean) 10:6; shir-haShirim 2:9

Greek :
          -eidos (Gk) – Luke 3:22;  2 Corinthians 5:7
          -homolos (Gk) – Mattityahu 13:31; Acts 17:29;  I Yochanan 3:2

Skip Moen =
“Demut” = feminine noun (likeness) = often compares dis-similar things.  Focus is on the similarity in actions, not in essence.

Humans are not miniature gods… but they are capable of ACTING in ways similar to YHUH, when they walk according to the pathway that secures life.  With the prefix and suffix = “Follow the path that secures a covenant of guaranteed life over chaos.”

Let me remind you what we learned from Skip Moen:
“Being Human = acting according to YHUH’s path to life.  Standing against chaos.  Participating in a covenant guarantee.  Knowing what is permitted and what is not, AND acting accordingly.  Any behavior that denies, negates, or rejects these goals is not human behavior and creatures that exhibit non-human behavior are not creatures that exhibit YHUH’s image.  Human being is manifest by ACTING as YHUH would act, being the reflected image of the Alohiym who creates, sustains and brings about order.”
Daniel 3:25

Page 65 in study  guide

V’yir’du  = resh-dalet-hey

Root = radah: dominate, rule, reign, dominion.
-    To “rule” like over conquered enemy.  Not abusive rule, but rule that understands “It will turn against you if you do not rule over it.”
Let them, ie, male and female (MANKIND)

“God designed the “man” to consist of the male and female”.... the balance of 2 that makes echad - the perfect unity.

Male and female are designed to rule together = echad

Male with female = usually quick and harsh/ not compassionate, they balance each other .
Woman tends to compassion.

After these verses, (“the fall”)  this word – RADAH – is never used of animal life again.

          B’midbar 24:19 = rule as in conquer
Mizmor 110:2, 49:15  = “ruling over the enemy or it will turn against you”
Y’chez’q’el (Ezekiel) 29:15  rule as if they were an enemy

To dominate or to rule - mashal:
In the New Testament –
no comparable word in Greek that distinguishes between “mashal” and “radah”  so in Greek it covers both meanings - ruling as a servant to serve = king/ dominating rule over conquered enemies.

“Mashal” = to rule as a servant ; rule over a kingdom.

Used as a servant / to serve the King,  and dominating rule over conquering .

Archon” (GK) = over fish = believers being born of water and spirit.  = HEAD  OF
                              Mark 10:42
                              Matthew 9:18  “ruler”
                              John 3:1 “ruler”
-There is a constant interchange of singular to plural in the creation text concerning man.
          - this could also be a reference to the plural use of “us”.

Vid’gat – resh gimel hay
Dagah – “to quickly multiply” , or grow.
-    Swarmers swarming  - reference to teaming/ “kazillion”.
= Fish – Yah’s desire is believers quickly multiply.  Noah’s flood = no mention of the fish.  (Brad thinks all the fish died.)

-    Dagah – also relates to “corn” – dagon = fish god of
Philistines
-    Baptism and the water/ fish and water/ believers and water
-    B’re’shiyt 48:16 – “let them grow”
-    Habakkuk 1:14; Y’chezq’el 47:9-12

-    (Gk) icthus – Mattityahu 47:9-12, 13:47-51

-    Fish saved to swallon Yonah

-    Fish represents believers, picture of them being spared

-   2Kefa 3:5-13 - fish being spared...
-   Why were fish spared in the flood? Or were they?  (Brad thinks they died)

In the future - knowing that all fish / believers will be spared...  all scholars believe that Yah’s people are spared ... wether you believe in rapture or not....
those who believe in Yah will be spared - Yah deliberately leaves out the death of the fish...

****
So “image” - Tselem (masculine) and D’mut (feminine ) are given authority - to be a human being - to walk in Yah’s instructions and Do YHUH’s things...  / behaviors....  and to NOT do this is not to be human.

AND we as people are given authority and instruction in how to do this...

Authority over chaos....

Many times in life i have looked at this idea of having authority and it was like... if anyone some where needed any kind of deliverance I could speak to those things....
But what if this is about authority over the things that are chaos in my life ..you know, the lies that I believe, and the unforgiveness that I hang on to...

see, I can say - wow... it feels pretty forsaken here... but what if when I stand before YHUH I wonder why things were so hard....  what if He looks and me and says... my child, you had the authority all along to rid your life of the painful chaos....  and you didn’t... why didn’t you follow my instructions?  I told you how to be free.

So we have authority over chaos.... hmmmm

The way we think....

Yesterday I went to a CE training - about “Trauma Informed Care”...

My eyes were opened more....

Recently I read “The Leipzig Connection  about the changing of education in America....

About how it was decided that during or right after World War One - the education in America would be dumbed down... on a continual and ongoing basis!

I sat there yesterday and listened to the trauma that kids deal with.  Not to minimize this awful stuff - because you know I am all about recognizing the painful stuff.... and yes it is awful and yes children need help with this - just as those who grew up with it and are now adults....

But that said....  what I heard was :
-how awful - absolutely true.  no argument there
and how bad it is and stats...
But they just read over a list of what to do instead.... to “help” except for explaining three things a bit more...
1.                  being in the moment...
2.                 guided imagery

both of which I am okay with to a point...
YHUH gave us imagination

and there I sat - in the moment, listening to the teaching...knitting to my heart’s content - focusing on my knitting stitches and what they were saying...not worrying about tomorrow stuff or mulling over past stuff...just right there happy to be knitting and listening...

and let me also say that I have encouraged my high jumpers to “see” themselves doing their approach before they do it... etc....  that is how we are made that our bodies can’t tell if we imagine doing it right or practice is perfectly - they help the same....

BUT both of these things are also doorways - that some have used to let hasatan in...  through guided imagery that is about me leaving my body and other things (that are things that are messed up)....and about me picturing things like me leaving my body etc....
what I am saying is - they can be used for evil.... and if I am the student being taught they are ALL good - then I am going to leave the door open for anything.

AND
they also talked mostly about ‘time out”

Children need time out.
My sister will tell you that kids in her day=treatment class - work like this... if one kid is going off - you want that kid out of the class ASAP because there is a great likelihood that he will trigger everyone else in the class....
so give them a time out to help  them calm down so they don’t get in more trouble and so they don’t trigger everyone else.

But I wrote on the evaluation - These are the people that are going to need being in my office....you know.. because they are 20 and have a job and the employer won’t allow time outs....    etc.....

Time outs fix it for the teacher and maybe for the kid in the moment... but not for the child long term.
That child is not going to be better off in their 20’s because they sat in time out......

3 types of trauma
a.    things absent that were needed
b.   things added that were NOT needed
c.   rumination on a negative thought

C.  causes the same bio chemical - physiological changes etc... as A. and B...... the same... and if C. can be healed based on changing your thinking....  THEN why can’t A and B injury be healed the same way?
I think it can.... but that is not just sitting in time out.
It can’t be about time out and reward....

What is more... the clinical world is way okay with the need to forgive... so throw in  we can forgive....  and teach that to students.... the door is wide open for healing!

and these things can help the - then 20 year old KEEP his job!

Romans 12:2 p 848
“And be not conformed to this olam hazeh:  but be transformed by
the ongoing renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is that tov, acceptable, and even the perfect, will of YHUH.”
~
Let’s consider how we think... Okay well that sounds easy enough...
but then let’s look at Shaul and what he says...

Romans 7:19-24 p 843
~
Ephesians 4:22-32 p 886

So what he should do - he doesn’t always do....  he knows what he should do....!

So the brain... or mind....

confused (Deuteronomy 28:20) p 158

anxious, closed (Job 17:3–4) p 574

evil, restless (Ecclesiastes 2:21–23) p 596

rash, deluded (Leviticus 5:4 p 83;

a troubled mind (2 Kings 6:11)  p 277

a depraved/ corrupted mind (1 Timothy 6:5) p 905

a sinful mind - Romans 8:7 p 843
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against YHUH; for it is not subject  to the Torah of YHUH, neither indeed can be.”

a dull mind - 2 Corinthians 3:14 p 866
“But their minds were blinded: for until this yom there remains the same vail  not taken away in the reading of the Tanakh; which veil is removed by Moshiach.”

a blinded mind (2 Corinthians 4:4) p 867

a corrupt mind (2 Timothy 3:8) p 907
“Now as Yannes and Yambres opposed Moshe, so do these also resist the emet: people of corrupt minds, far from the emunah.”

So How do we live?

Philippians 4:6-8 p 891
6”Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks let your requests be made known to YHUH.
7 And the shalom  of YHUH, which passes all binah (understanding,) shall keep your hearts and minds through Moshiach Yahusha.
8 Finally, Yisra’elite brothers, whatever things are emet, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of tov report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any tehilla, think on these things.”

2 Timothy 1:7 p 906
“For YHUH has not given us the Ruach of fear; but of power, and of ahava, and of a sound mind.”

Jeremiah 33:3 p 337
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.”

Proverbs 13:12 p 556
“Hope deferred makes the lev sick: but when the desire comes, it is an eytz chaym.”

Proverbs 28:26 p 564
“He that trusts in his own lev is a fool: but whoever walks with chochmah, he shall be delivered.”

Proverbs 4:20-23 p 551

Deut 30:19-20 p 162
“I call the shamayim and earth to record this yom against you, that I have set before you chayim and death, blessing and cursing:  therefore choose chayim, that both you and your zera may live:
20 That you may love YHUH your God, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may cleave to Him for He is your life and the length of your days;  that you may dwell in the land which YHUH swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaakov, to give them.

2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 p 870
“For though we are walking in the world/flesh, we do not war according to the world/flesh:
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through  our God to the pulling down of strongholds;
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high human matter that exalts itself against the da’at of  YHUH, taking captive every thought to be obedient to Moshiach;”

Philippians 4:8 p 891
“Finally, Yisra’elite brothers, whatever things are emet, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of tov report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any tehilla (praise), think o thee things.”

Proverbs 23:7 p 561
“For as he thinks in his lev, so is he...”

mustard seed....

So what if we teach the children these things.... ???!!

Grace and Mercy + Prophecies Fulfilled

Grace and Mercy and Prophecies Fulfilled
B’re’shiyt 1:22-23 - Brad Scott’s work

The Hebrew meanings of grace and mercy - Harbour Light Ministries
Pin It
B’re’shiyt 1:22-23

p 57 in study guide

we are finishing.... verse:
B’re’shiyt 1:22
“And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”

“Vay-y’varek  ‘otam  Alohiym le’mor p’ru  ur’vu  umile’u  ‘et-ham-mayim  bay-yam-miy  ve’ha’oph  yirev ba’aretz.”

UMILe’U
Translated as = to fill the earth or fill the waters.

from Hebrew root Mala = to fill something to overflow... more than full...

Joshua 3:15 The Jordan River “over-flows” it’s banks

2 Chronicles 5:13-14 p 650
“It came even to pass, as the shofar blowers and singers were as echad, to make one sound to be heard in tehilla and hodu to YHUH; when they lifted up their voice with the shofars and cymbals instruments of music, and gave tehilla to YHUH, saying For He is tov; for His chesed endures le-olam-va-ed:  that then the Bayit was filled with a cloud, even the Bayit of YHUH;
14 So that the Kohanim were not able to stand to serve because of the cloud: for the tifereth of YHUH filled the Bayit of Alohiym.”

“FILLS” is  translated as fill, fulfill,
and a couple times translated as “replenished”
also the word translated into “consecrated”
based on another definition = satisfaction, accomplished

This is about prophecy that is fulfilled - it is NOT ended.... it is “SATISFIED”

(see scripture listed on p 57)

= to fill the waters and the seas...

In the Brit Chadasha - the New Testament:
this is the Greek word
“pleres”  = fill to abundance (Not about ending - full)

Mattityahu 15:37 p 691
“And they did all eat, and were filled: and they collected from the broken pieces that were left seven baskets full.

Acts 6:5  - full  p 784
“And the saying pleased the entire multitude: and they chose Tzephanyah, a man full of emunah and the Ruach Hakodesh, and Philip, and Prochoros, and Nikanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nikolaos a Yisra’elite of Antioch:”

Mattityahu 5:17  p 680 RSTNE
“Think not that I am come to weaken, or destroy the Torah, or the neviim:  I have not come to weaken, or destroy, but to completely reveal it in its intended fullness.”

Other versions say something close to
“I have not come to destroy the law but to fill (or fulfill) it”

“fill” here is a Hebrew idiom... and so is to “destroy the law”

What is a Hebrew idiom?
Lois Tverberg writes:
The translation of "to fulfill" is lekayem in Hebrew (le-KAI-yem), which means to uphold or establish, as well as to fulfill, complete or accomplish.2

David Bivin has pointed out that the phrase "fulfill the Law" is often used as an idiom to mean to properly interpret the Torah so that people
can obey it as God really intends.

The word "abolish" was likely either levatel, to nullify, or la'akor, to uproot, which meant to undermine the Torah by misinterpreting it.

**
p 58 in study guide:

B’re’shiyt 1:23
“Vaye’hiy--erev  vaye’hiy  voqer  yom cha’mishiy.”

“And there was evening and there was morning day fifth”

“And the evening and the morning were the 5th day.”

~~
Words we already know are:

Vaye’hiy -- erev = And there was evening

vaye’hiy = and there was

voquer = morning

yom = day

~~
The new word in this verse is:

CHa’MISHIY =  5th

(Chumash = is name of a particular volume / commentary of first 5 books... = the five)

Brad Scott says that “Even though this is a number, it also has a literal meaning.”

cha’mishiy = armed, prepared, to be ready

Adding of letters in the names of Avram and Sari….
After Avram and Sari found grace in the eyes of YHWH,
He took the 5th letter in the Hebrew Alephbet  - Hay - and inserted it into their names... Avraham and Sarah...   - breathed His life in them...  “born again”...

see p 59 in study guide on #5

**
2 Chronicles 5:13-14 p 650
“It came even to pass, as the shofar blowers and singers were as echad, to make one sound to be heard in tehilla and hodu to YHUH; when they lifted up their voice with the shofars and cymbals instruments of music, and gave tehilla to YHUH, saying For He is tov; for His chesed endures le-olam-va-ed:  that then the Bayit was filled with a cloud, even the Bayit of YHUH;
14 So that the Kohanim were not able to stand to serve because of the cloud: for the tifereth of YHUH filled the Bayit of Alohiym.”

The “chesed” = MERCY

“Five” is the number of GRACE and divinity.

#5 is also the number of  grace and mercy.

The definition we give mercy is actually the definition of grace.
And the definition we give grace is actually the definition of mercy.

Psalm 119 Ministries:
The Hebrew Root of Grace
The Hebrew word for Grace is “chen.” It is composed of the Hebrew letters chet (pictured by a fence, meaning private, or to separate from outside) and noon (pictured by a seed of life or later a fish, meaning activity, life, continue, or heir). The word itself means “beauty or loveliness,” and literally in the paleo-Hebrew means “to separate from the outside” or “protect life.”
Before moving on, it should be noted that this single, simple Hebrew word is translated into English using numerous words including grace, favor, charm, acceptance, kindness, pleasant, precious, and elegance.
As we note in our teaching “How to Test Everything,” Hebrew thinking is concrete (seen, touched, smelled, tasted or heard; action oriented) while Greek thinking is more abstract (concepts or ideas, almost always used by English translators even to this day). This explains the common motivation by translators to use various English words for the same Hebrew word.
This difference in thinking is one of the reasons we don’t always find the word “grace” in our English translations of the Torah (the first five books of Moses).
The English word “grace” as we understand it, which we accept to mean “unmerited favor,” (for a loose definition) is fairly abstract. In Hebrew, we must understand it in more concrete terms, which provides a wonderful picture.
It is also precisely why it is of such value in key word studies to go back to the original paleo-Hebrew, which is the alef-bet (alphabet) used for most of the Tanakh (or Old Testament), and all of Torah.
This Hebrew word “chen” is linguistically related and part of the root “cha-nan” and “channun” meaning “to be inclined toward or favor” and “cha-nah” meaning “to incline, or to make camp.”
Another way of understanding this is that we favor or make camp with one or those acceptable to us, and to find favor (grace) in someone’s eyes is also to find them beautiful.
These related words may be found over 250 times throughout the Tanakh alone.
Notice how “chanah” is used in relation to those who would camp near to the Tabernacle.
Numbers 1:52
The sons of Israel shall camp (“chanah”), each man by his own camp, and each man by his own standard, according to their armies.
A good example of the use of “chen” in the Tanakh is in the story of Noah. Genesis 6:8
But Noah found grace (“chen”) in the eyes of YHVH.
The most observant or those with some basic Hebrew knowledge might also notice that same two Hebrew letters make up the name Noah, or Noach (“noon-chet”), which means “resting,” or literally in the paleo-Hebrew “the heir separated from the outside,” as while in the ark.
Moses also received God’s grace.
Exodus 33:13-14
Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor (“chen”) in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor (“chen”) in Your sight. Consider too, that this nation is Your people.” And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest (“nuach”).”
Exodus 34:6
YHVH passed before him and proclaimed, “YHVH, YHVH El (God), a God merciful and gracious (“channun”), slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
The word in the Greek Septuagint for grace is “charis” and means “that which affords pleasure or delight,” “loving-kindness, favor,” or “thanks.” This same word used in the New Testament is used identically.
John 1:17
For the Law was given through Moses; grace (“charis”) and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Remember also, from our teaching “Grafted In,” the Law wasn't just for natural born Israel, but also the alien (from the nations/or Gentiles) to be grafted into Israel and to be counted the same as Israel with the same law, no differences.
Exodus 12:49
The same law applies to the native-born and to the alien living among you.
Psalm 84:11
“For YHVH God is a sun and shield: YHVH will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
In Hebraic terms, this would be understood to present a consistent message, God provides instruction (Torah) for those He favors, and what He considers beautiful is protected from the outside world through Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

Grace
by Brad Scott

One of the most oft quoted New Testament passages I hear when I get caught obeying the commandments of God, is in Ephesians:

Ephesians 2:8-9 p 883
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is easy when we see someone observing "Jewish feasts" to respond with "...we are not under the law, but under grace..."

If we look up the abstract word grace in a typical Greek lexicon we generally get more abstract and emotional definitions like favor, benefit, acceptable, or gratitude.

This Greek word is translated from the Hebrew chen (חן), which in our modern Hebrew lexicons means something very similar. Favor, mercy and pleasant come to mind.

The ancient pictograhic and concrete meaning of this word however, paints a more recognizable hands on and germane meaning.

The parent root of this word is chet and nun.

This fundamental father root means to protect life.

It’s concrete picture is found in it’s common use as a tent which is pitched in the wilderness.

Mizmor (Psalm) 34:7
The angel of YHVH encampeth [chanah] round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Divre-Hayamim Bet (2 Chronicles) 31:2
And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents [chanah] of YHVH.

Yo’el (Joel) 2:11
And YHVH shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp [chanah] is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of YHVH is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Zekareyah (Zechariah) 12:7
YHVH also shall save the tents [chanah] of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

Our Father’s desire from the fall of Adam and Chavah is to restore His people to His tent, to His abode, to His house.

His grace is to woo us out of our tents and back into His tent. I propose that from the beginning in the same way that there is really only one body, one spirit, one God and Father of all, there is also only one tent. When His people were divided and scattered in the days of Solomon, our Father’s heart was set to reunite His people into His camp. One fold with one Shepherd all walking in His ways.

This is why the rest of Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:10 are so important.

Ephesians 2:8-10 p 883
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of ’Elohiym - not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yahshua unto good works, which ’Elohiym hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

MERCY

Several Hebrew and Greek terms lie behind the English term "mercy." The chief Hebrew term is hesed [d,s,j], God's covenant "lovingkindness." In both the Greek translation of the Old Testament (the LXX) and the New Testament, the term behind "mercy" is most often eleos [e[leo"] in one form or another, but oiktirmos/oiktiro [oijktirmov"/oijkteivrw] (compassion, pity, to show mercy) and splanchna/splagchnizomai (to show mercy, to feel sympathy for) also play roles.

So all that said....
MERCY is really what we think of as grace....
doing something nice for me... not giving me what I deserve and giving me what I don’t deserve.

And GRACE is being given instructions to follow... so that I am safe... so that there is a wall between me and the world... so that I am set apart.

Interesting that Christians sing about grace... using the word as though it had the definition of mercy...

Questions to think about:

1.     What have you learned this past year about Mercy - not getting what you deserve... have you moved into a place of deeper forgiveness?

2.    What have you learned about Grace - being given instructions/safe?
What is something you understand better?

3.     Have/how you been thanking and praising YHUH for these things?

4.     What is a most joyous thing you have learned, experienced, or has happened this past year?

5.  What are you seeking/ praying for this year?

Yes we are saved by the Mercy of YHUH....  and Praise Him that He has offered us the Grace of Torah - to follow His instructions so that we stay safe in Him!

I just want to note yet....

Prophecies Yahusha fulfilled

Mathematically speaking,

the odds of anyone fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering.

Mathematicians put it this way:

1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000

1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power

1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Yahusha!!

Just like we started today in B’re’shiyt 1:22 with our new word...

UMILe’U
Translated as = to fill the earth or fill the waters.

from Hebrew root Mala = to fill something to overflow... more than full...

Joshua 3:15 The Jordan River “over-flows” it’s banks

How full is your “CUP” ???(so to speak)

What about Grace and Mercy....
what about Messiah’s death and resurrection -
for Yisra’el and for you (us)?

So all the above said, what really hit me was
1.   Christians have grace and mercy turned around... and they are praising Yah for the very thing they don’t yet understand!  This is like how Yah has people praying the Sh’ma!   - that Yisra’el - the northern kingdom - Ephraim if you will, would wake up and return!  :)

2.    BUT way bigger than that for  me... is that I KNOW the Word says He will never leave me or forsake me.... but wow...
Turns out GRACE is that He builds a wall or a tent around ME to keep me safe from the things outside of Him.... He surrounds me with His care...  This is what separates me - or sets me apart, if you will - his wall around me.... that keeps me SAFE.
If He surrounds me to keep me safe - what am I doing afraid?
Well even, what am I doing worried??
AND - what am I doing feeling like He is far away?

AND besides all that... He gives me instruction... How to live “in the world but not of the world”
What?  - we are in the world but with a fence or tent around us separating ourselves from the world... by His power, keeping us safe!

and He teaches us how to live in this place!

So if that is the case...  I should know what is going on - so I can apply His Word, but I don’t have to worry!  I don’t have to be afraid!

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death...
I will fear no evil...

He put a tent around us. He keeps me safe.
And teaches me how to live!

Okay so lets consider this... it is sort of like having an umbrella... it is pouring rain and the rain is not good.  I don’t want to get in the rain...

Well Yah has given the umbrella (the fence if you will) and he shows me how to live - (instructions if you will) to stay under the umbrella....

Wow... this grace and mercy thing opens my eyes...

Yes, I know mercy is not getting what I deserve - death
and getting what I don’t deserve - life!  (Praise Yahuah!)

I didn’t know...  about grace...I only thought I did.
Grace is all over the Word... so He says it a lot!

And each time He is talking about the shelter he has built to keep me/us safe... and the instructions he has given to teach us how to live...

He’s not out there somewhere far away... He is surrounding me and teaching me constantly - if I have ears to hear the lessons.  :)

He is surrounding me - protecting me... keeping me safe.
SAFE.  SAFE.  He is keeping me SAFE from the things in the world that are not of Him.
SAFE.

What a concept.  I didn’t know what it was to be safe.

How does this effect how we live?... walking in grace and mercy?
May we never see it the same again.

Sh’ma Yisra’el
