Trees and sin

Review handout:
pages 5-6
Hand out:
Woman is the “perfect enemy” of man.... meaning that she will support and support
when he is obedient to YHWH...but when he is not - she will utterly defy and
challenge him to serve YHWH.
“When she is truly EZER KENEGDO, she protects
her man as no other. She is his ultimate
weapon against unrighteousness, even when the unrighteousness is found within
him. She is the boundary-setter,
designed with special awareness of YHWH’s intentions. She plays a role that he
cannot play (and visa versa!!), not simply in procreation but as the one who
brings reinforcements, encouragement and sustenance. Furthermore she is the perfect opposition,
the perfect enemy, when her man steps away from obedience to YHWH. She is YHWH’s gift to man and she is designed
to bless man the way YHWH blesses His people!
-- Her
job is to insure that he becomes all that YHWH intends him to be. Just as he does that for her as well.
**
B’re’shiyt 2:24
“Therefore shall a man leave his abba(father) and his eema (mother), and shall
cleave to his wife: and they shall be basar echad (one flesh).”
THEREFORE
= AL-KEN = looking toward the open palm of life. =
What we do as a result of what we understand!
LEAVE
= ASAV = to leave, abandon, forsake or turn or cut
loose.
The pictograph is = the leader cut off from
the house.
CLEAVE
= DAVAQ = = to cling, cleave, to join with.
The pictograph shows us - “a door to a house behind”. DAVAQ is about “superglue”!!
Rowing a boat
= Hebrew perspective of time... we face the past with our backs to the future.
Mattityahu 19:6
“Therefore they are no more two, but basar echad. What therefore YHWH has joined together, let
not man put asunder.”
The
phrase - “joined together” =syzeugnymi - a Greek word that is mostly translated
into english as “joined together”... is
better translated - “yoked together” =the HEBREW word = HAVAR = yoked together
or pulling a load together. = the same mission, and deepest kind of community.
Pictograph = a fence around a person in a
house.
DAVAQ is the sticking together no matter
what.... it is COVENANT LANGUAGE.
B’re’shiyt 2:21
“And YHWH Elohiym caused a TARDEMA (deep
sleep) to fall upon Ahdahm.
B’re’shiyt 15:12
“And when the shemesh (sun) was going down, a TARDEMA (deep sleep) fell upon
Avram; ...” - TARDEMA is a
trance. -They were both put in a
TRANCE... because YHWH is the active agent of the covenant.
--In both cases the man is passive and YHWH
does it!!
YHWH’s work in creating the EZER KENEGDO is
connected to YHWH’s work in establishing the covenant of promise with Avraham.
-The woman is
YHWH’s FIRST manifestation of promise.
-The woman’s role is to provide shalom to
Adam.
-The covenant with Avraham results in Shalom
for mankind.
-The EZER is Yah’s answer for man being
alone... just as the covenant with Avraham is Yah’s answer from man being
separated from YHWH.
“We once asked how the EZER KENEGDO could act
as a priest and guide in a perfect world.
We asked how she could be connected with the idea of forgiveness. Now we see the answer.”
“She has a covenant relationship with YHWH; a
covenant relationship that is built right into her very existence. Her connection to Yah is precisely what
equips her to accomplish the purpose of her existence - to bless her man. She is the physical manifestation of YHWH’s
grace, the one who guards him and guides him toward harmony with the Creator
and the creation. She embodies the
attributes of the truest EZER.”
DAVAQ describes YHWH’s reliability and
consistency fastened to His covenant.”
A man is to cling to his woman the same way
we are to cling - DAVAQ -to YHWH.

Now let’s move on to the new material.
Remember I said we had to talk about all of that
so that we could talk about the first sin...
So let’s start on page 10 of our RSTNE Bibles...
B’re’shiyt (Genesis) 2:17
“But
of the eytz of the da’at of tov and and evil, you shall not eat of it; for in
the yom that you eat from it you shall surely die.”
B’re’shiyt 3
**
So what if a mom said - “don’t eat those
cookies”... and then she left the room, and when she returned 6 cookies were
gone...
Then she told the little kid.... “I told you not
to eat the cookies. Why did you disobey
me?”
And the kid answered ---“I didn’t know what you meant. I don’t understand the difference between
right and wrong. I’m too young for such ethical
distinctions. Therefore, I can’t be held
accountable for my actions.”
If you were the parent/s, would you accept this
response?
-Smart kid to use the words “ethical
distinctions”....
You might laugh about this (hopefully not in front
of the kid!) but you would NOT accept this answer because the kids does know
the difference between right and wrong, so he is responsible and culpable.
So Moen asks...
“What about Adam??
If
eating from the Tree of the knowledge of Tov and Ra gives him the ability to
distinguish between good and evil -
then
before he eats - he can’t know the difference!
And if he doesn’t know the difference, then how
can he possibly understand YHWH’s command not to eat of it?? !!
If he didn’t know - Adam should have told YHWH -
“Wait a minute. If I didn’t know it was
wrong to eat from the Tree until AFTER i ate from it? I did it, but I’m not guilty - I didn’t know
it was wrong.”
So now hear this....
If the eytz of the da’at of tov and ra - (tree of
the knowledge of good and evil) ....
REPRESENTS THE KNOWLEDGE
OF RIGHT AND WRONG,
THEN ADAM’S SIN IS A CONTRADICTION!
Are you with me?
!!
If the tree of the knowledge of good and evil gave
them the ability to tell the difference - then Adam couldn’t have known it
before he ate of it!!!!
In the text - YHWH clearly expected Adam to know
he shouldn’t eat of that tree and to NOT eat of it!!
Adam was supposed to know about obedience BEFORE
he ate of that tree....
That’s the entire purpose of the word: BUT in
B’re’shiyt (Genesis) 2:17
“But
of the eytz of the da’at of tov and and evil, you shall not eat
of it; for in the yom that you eat from it you shall surely die.”
Moen says...
“This must imply that Adam already knew the
difference between right and wrong
BEFORE
he ate from the Tree of the knowledge of good and
evil.”
And Moen goes on to say....
“Therefore, whatever knowledge comes
from that tree, it CANNOT be the knowledge of the difference between
right and wrong.
It’s time to rethink the story!!”
Rabbi David Fohrman quotes Maimonides on this and
says:
“the tree did not give us moral awareness when we
had none before. Rather, it TRANSFORMED
this awareness from one kind into another.”
So....
Moen says... this is saying...
“After eating from the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil, humanity’s innate sense of moral awareness was transformed from
concepts of true and false - to concepts of good and evil.”
Look at this... B’re’shiyt describes the tree as
desirable - or “pleasant to the eyes”
This is not the way we talk about true and
false.
But it is the way we talk about good and evil.
Moen says...
“Before Adam and Chavah ate from the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, ....
obedience
and direction in life were determined by what was true and what was false!!!
YHWH’s Words are truth / emet!!
Any other suggestions are false!
But after Adam and Chavah ate from that tree,
another element entered into the determination of
moral behavior.”
“That element is personal desire.”
“Before eating of that tree -
the correct moral behavior was determined by
listening to the voice of YHWH!
Moral decisions were either true (because YHWH
said it) -
- or
they were false (YHWH didn’t say it).”
But after eating from the tree - all moral
decisions were evaluated in the context of WHAT I WANT - WHAT I DECIDE - WHAT
MY OPINION IS....
NOT YHWH’S OPINION!!!
“My voice was not in competition with YHWH’s
voice. My decisions were no longer
simply true or false...”
Now they were what i think is good for me and what
i think is bad for me!
That means i can decide between what YHWH asks and
what i decide he means - or what i WANT to do!!!
“Eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil - produced SELF -awareness....of MY desire... and the world changed -
forever”
**
Okay let’s process that a bit....
What happened when man ate of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil -
decision making changed from just doing YHWH’s
truth....
to what man decides is best!!
~
This makes that old christian method of sitting
around and talking about what a verse “means to me”... absolutely appalling to
me - because now i see why it is to YHWH as well!!
This also is a great big explanation and
affirmation as to why healing comes from the counseling that is about
identifying the lies we believe, renouncing them, repenting of believing them
and declaring / learning the TRUTH of what YHWH says about the stuff!!!
*
So what was really happening in the garden with
the serpent - was a confrontation where the outcome would determine - “ Who will be Elohiym (God)? YHWH or me ??
So this is why the first sin is sin of
idolotry....because that sin put something (man) before YHWH....
- Man
went from living by the Truth of YHWH - to living in what ever I decide is good
for me... or just - whatever I WANT to do.
This makes so much sense of why it is so awful
when we come up against that philosophy the pagan world has - that “It might
not be right for you, but if i decide IT is right for me then it is RIGHT or
GOOD.” !!!!!
“What happened is that the serpent appealed to
Chavah’s concern to be “all that she can be,” but the seduction is to be just a
bit MORE than what YHWH determines is good!!!!”
“Chavah does not break the commandment because she
desires to become YHWH. She breaks the
commandment because she is seduced into believing she can be better at blessing
her man - if she equips herself with self-determining moral valuing.”
The serpent deludes Chavah into a self-serving
idolatry, an idolatry that appears to STRENGTHEN her abilities to fulfill her
mission.”
Moen says
“this is not the end of the story, but it helps us
see a different perspective of the beginning.
Maybe it also helps us see just how much the role of our desires plays
in our determination of good and evil.”
“Once we understand how deeply seated the concept
of desire is in the idea of sin, lots of things change.”
Moen goes on to explain that we must clearly
understand that...
“YHWH built desire into the heart of man.”
The point is “not getting rid of desire. Rather, it is learning to listen to YHWH’s
voice in order to direct the desire.”
The point is that YHWH decides... or said another way...
we are supposed to be basing all our decisions on
what the Word says.... If it doesn’t line up with YHWH’s Word - then we
shouldn’t be doing it!!
I am so DONE with hearing at hospice... “Well he
was a good person.” !!!
The question is
NOT if you are I or even that person thinks they did good things....
The question is - Did he and do we - live
according to YHWH our Elohiym and HIS Word or not.
My opinion - man’s opinion NEVER determines if
something is TRUTH or not!!!
It’s all up to Yah!! :)
Moen goes on to say ...
We learn from the construction of the ezer kenegdo
that passion is part of her design. She
is passionate about being the protector, the provider, the guide, the
counselor, the priest, and the source of strength .
That passionate desire is not sinful.
Moen says the fact that men teach that the ezer’s
desire is sinful is a disaster as compared with the Word itself.
Passion is what makes life worth living!
Passion is not sin.
But passion without seeking and walking in YHWH’s
Truth - is.
Just like any living outside of YHWH’s Truth is
sin.
You see - it was never supposed to be about what I
think.
Somewhere in christianity this truth got so
distorted - they can’t even see the beginning from where they are.
When independent choice - My / Man’s opinion came
in... everything changed.
~
We’ve been studying the B’re’shiyt with Bradley
Scott’s “Br’re’shiyt word by word study for over a year... and we are learning
why it is so important to understand the beginning correctly.
Well this revelation about the two trees is a huge
part of that!!
So man could eat from the Etz Chayim - the Tree of
Life ... because that was about YHWH’s Truth.... and life was based on TRUTH/ EMET.
But when man ate from the Etz of da’at of tov and
ra (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil)
life went from being based on Truth/ EMET... to my
opinion.
~~ No wonder YHWH had me asking Him about the 2
trees for the last 20+ years!!! This is
hugely important!!
So what do we do?....
We start by recognizing that our lives are
supposed to be based literally - on YHWH’s TRUTH ...
.... and that it is NEVER ever never - supposed to
be based on my - or anyone’s opinion.
Man doesn’t determine Truth - only YHWH!!
This is why when i was first introduced to
identifying lies i believed in my life...it began to bring healing....
because i began to learn that TRUTH is always what
YHWH says and NOTHING else.
So this tells me - it is even more important to
know what His Word says... than i ever understood before.
Yochanan 8: 31-33
RSTNE p 763
“Then said Y’shua to those Yahudim who believed on
Him, ‘If you continue in My word, (the Aramaic English NT says ‘abide by My
Word’), then are you My talmidim indeed;
32 And you shall know the emet (truth), and the emet shall make you
free.”
Google says - abide
means = accept or act in accordance with
(a rule, decision, or recommendation)."I
said I would abide by their decision"
1. comply with, obey, observe, follow, keep to, hold to, confrom to, adhere to, stick to, stand by, act in accordance with, uphold, heed, accept, go along with, acknowledge, respect, defer to "he expected everybody to abide by the rules"
Follow,
obey, observe, defer to.....
wow
that sounds a whole like
“Sh’ma
Yisra’el YHWH Eloheinu, YHWH echad.”
Hear
Oh Yisra’el... hear and do the Word of YHWH.
amein!!
