... and ...

I’d like to start today with a reminder that
you may not need... but bears
mentioning...
We are in the middle - end of the blood moons
that have been talked about for awhile now......
As you may remember ...
A blood moon is a full lunar eclipse... in
which the sun’s rays entering through the earth’s atmosphere make a red or
blood-like appearance.
The first time this happened recently was
April 15, 2014 - which happened to be Pesach (Passover).
The second time was October 8, 2014 - which
happened to be the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles).
The next blood moon is going to be April 4,
2015 which is Pesach.
Which is following a solar eclipse of
yesterday.
~ One of the things we know is that things
happen in the sky all the time... but we
also know that when things happen of YHWH’s Moeds... it is a big deal... of
which we may or may not know what it means....
That said... let’s go to our B’re’shiyt study - because it
relates to this....

40th B’re’shiyt
(Genesis) teaching by Brad Scott:
Brad said that most
studies of B’re’shiyt are about.... “there is God and he created...” and “God
is where all things came from...
And he went on but there is much more to “where all things came from”
than the physical stuff we see with our eyes...that were created ...
The thing we have to remember is that in the beginning
of the Word - in the B’re’shiyt, if you will,
YHWH goes to great depth to give much detail of his plan...
Remember that we talked about how YHWH gave us the
natural to understand the physcial. And
we are learning that YHWH is concerned with great detail.... and this detail is
needed to understand the rest of the Word... based on the B’re’shiyt of the
Word.
What we need to
understand is that here we are in B’re’shiyt 1:14... and the 3rd day is
completed....
and it is now the 4th
day.
And so far... the
land has been redeemed..... remember it
was bara-ed /CREATED COMPLETE and finsihed work in 1:1
and then something
happened in 1:2 and it became chaos.
We believe that is
when the fall of hasatan happened....
and then the land was
redeemed... baptized and
has now been
commanded to bring forth fruit...
Remember - the earth
does what YHWH commands it to do.
but - we humans - can
choose to say no.
The earth has no
choice... they say it is “instinct” - It
just does it by Yah’s design...
and YHWH could if He
wanted to (Brad says) - get His praises and glory and obedience through rocks
and trees...
(and i think the
whole creation praises YHWH... with its beauty)
But YHWH invites man
to choose to do what YHWH tells him to do
So here we are at -
B’re’shiyt 1:14....
the 4th day....
Up until now after
verse one, there has not been any creative acts going on... until we get to animal life on the 5th day.
we are on page 45 in
our study guide:
B’re’shiyt 1:14
Vay-yo’mer Elohiym Y’hiy me’orot
bir’eqiya hash’shamayim
l’hav’diyl beyn hay-yom uveyn
hal-lay’lah v’hayu l’otot ul’mo’adim ul’yamiym ve’shaniym.
RSTNE: “And Elohim said, Let there be lights in
the firmament of the shamayim to divide the yom fromt he night; and let them be
for signs-witnesses, and for (seasons) moadim, and for days, and years.”

Brad talked for awhile about his belief that the days in B’re’shiyt are
literal 24 hour days.... and that a day
consists of light and dark/night.
So the natural thing to ask, he said is... “If the light is brought
forth and divides the darkness, how can we have that without a sun and a moon?”
The answer is that in
1:4 the light was brought to divide...
There was no
expression... that is to say - nothing
was brought forth until we have the sun and moon...
There were no
markers... for theprupose of days and months and years untill it is expressed
in sun and moon....
YHWH makes a
distinction between light and dark...but there could be 24 hours that go by without the sun the moon.
Brad believes that
so far we could have
had 3 complete rotations of the earth - 3 -24 hour days.
YHWH created light
and dark
and then he makes a
firmament... in vs 6
and then commands the
earth to produce, but it can not produce until YHWH places the lights in the
firmment to give light upon the earth to cause things to grow.
If you have plants...
and do not have sun and moon light on earth and these are great geological
periods of time without a sun and moon to give light upon the plants to cause
them to grow...
....this wold be
ludacris. - The plants couldn’t grow.
There is nothing
keeping the light from making a 24 hour period even when we do not yet have a
sun and a moon for couple days as the dividers / markers for the days and
years.
These lights in the
shamayim will be for two reasons..
(our new words)
l’otot and ul’mo’adim
= for signs and for seasons...
l’otot -
from ote
= to communicate something.
Ote is translated as “a signal, a sign
a mark or a token” and the word used for “miracle” =
“miracle” means
= outside the normal understanding of
physics... “a sign communicates something , points to something”
.... Yah communicates with man - not just with
words... but also in many diverse manners to the rest of creation who doesn’t
have access to a bible.
This is a big
deal....
the p’shat - the
plain /obvious teaching is... these things YHWH put in the heavens / sky/ space
- so that YHWH could speak to us through them and HE put them there so that man
could not mess with them or change them in any way.
Romans 1 - when Shaul states that no man will stand before
YHWH with any excuse ....

This is not
about missionaires...!!
-
millions have
not had missionaries yet Yah has provided a way....
~
What are the things
which are made - sun and moon and stars - for signs and seasons... to
communicate something..???
Even the nature of
who HE is - is clearly seen through these things in the sky!!...
When YHWH reveals
these things and man still rejects YHWH, and these things ... man is rejecting
things that YHWH uses to commuicate to man.
The Hebrew letters...
alepfh - waw (vav) -
tov = OTE
= signal /sign / marker, miracle...
in p’shat - OTE =
signal and marks days and months and years..
= Yah’s plan for
marking time...
Brad says this is
imperitive to understand....
because man has
decided to mark time many other ways..
and this is why there
are so many calanders and so much confusion about when things are...
But all we have to do
is go back to the begining and these things begin to fall into place.
YHWH has put
something in the heavens - something that every eye can see -
Plus....modern day
computers can use the consistency to even go back in time to figure dates
because of the consistency of the sun and moon and stars....
Computers can to go
back in time and figure out asronomical configureation... why?
Because YHWH has put
things in the heavens that can’t be manipulated by man... :)
-All one has to do to
see the difference between the way man decides to communicate truth... is to
look at how our are calendars have manipulated!! ....
september = sept =
seven = 9th month
oct = 8 = 10th
month...
Dec = 10
You see, man has
manipulted the calendars and changed them, but man can not change the rotation
of the sun... moon and patterns of stars.
... Amazing how great
our Elohiym is!!

in distinguishing
Cain out from other peoples... YHWH uses an“ote” or “mark”
This OTE=
distinguishes Cain from all other people...in same way days and months and
years are distinguished
B’re’shiyt 17:11 circumcision
is a sign/token
Now i am going to
remind you that circumcision is a token sign of the covenant of promise and
since the Covenant of Promise was broken...
the token doesn’t mean anything any more.
We could talk about
health benefits of circumcision...
and we can say that
YHWH gave this “sign” to set Isra’el apart from the other peoples.... and that is true...
the Word says it was
a token sign of the covenant that was broken.
B’re’shiyt 9:12 - the rainbow... is a OTE = a sign
B’midbar
(Numbers) 14:22 - miracles / OTE = l’otot
YHWH put things in
heaven to commuicate with man, and it is up to man to decide how he will
respond to YHWH.
Why it is important
that Yah says... “this is a sign”... and he gives a warning and says do not
participate in the pagan festivals and server thier gods???
Because YHWH did not
communicate to man through pagan /other god ways...
YHWH only
commuicates through His ways!!
We need to understand
- that we are getting false signs and false commuincations -
by particpating in
the things that Yah said are not His signs and not His ways of
communicating!!!!
Sh’mot (Exodus)
31:13
= Shabbats are a sign, an OTE
“...that you may know
that I am YHWH who set you apart...”
The point is - HE set
you apart FROM false ways!!!
This is part of why
the Jewish leaders asked Y’shua for a sign...
Because they were
looking for signs... something given to point to the true Messiah
Yeshayahu (Isaiah)
7:14 p 298

sign = a
virgin shall concieve...

So if there is
not a virgin = then there is not a sign...
-
that is why l’otot is
also the word for “miralce.”....
-
becasue a
virgin conceiving is not a normal thing!...
so it is an OTE / SIGN!!! :)
Mattityahu 16:4 p 691
The sign of the prophet Jonah = 3 days and 3 nights
Mattityahu 24:3 p 698
- The disciples asked
Y’shua..when and what shall be the sign /signal of His coming... at the end of
the age...
And there are other
verses in study guide on page 46

The second new word
is
ul’mo’adim
This is the second
thing the lights in the frimament do ...
1.
for signs.
2.
for seasons
3.
for days and
4.
for years too
ul’mo’adim = seasons = from “mo’ed”
Root = ya’ad = to appoint something.... an
appoointment.
moeds = appointments
transalted in OT as
“to meet together” and even as “betrothel”
and “to assemble
yourselves”
I Corin 11 - says.....‘and they gathered together”
-they assembled
themselves -
-
this is a
great example of “backwards interpretation”
= They read in the NT and decide what it
means!!
The Bible should be -
interpreted from the beginning....
= take the meaning of
the words in the begining and bring them forward... and apply that to the NT.
however, typically
the modern day christian looks at how we do things now and places that in the
context.
for example -
commuion in I Corin 11... “when you come together” or when you do this”...
going back to “when you come together”
so we ask ourselves -
what does this mean.??..
. and christians
assume it means once a week on sunday morning!!
But in
HEBREW the concept of assembling
together is in reference to one of the FEASTS...
This is why Y’shua
says that at Pesach... “when you do this..”
christians think it
means once a week on sunday
-
but in Hebrew
“when you do this” = is a feast = Pesach
-When you gather together for Pesach - that is
when you will remember me --- THAT is
the context and the correct use!!!

We have set times....
Mo’ed is also
transalted as - “congregation” and “feast” or “set-apart feast”
B’re’shiyt 14 - “is anything
too hard for YHWH” - to Sarah
Sh’mot (Exodus)
25:22
-speaking of the Ark and the
cheribium.... and there between the
cheribuium..i will meet with you... “I will meet” = ya’ad = betrothe/meet with
you....
This is like ketubah
- a marriage covenant!
i will comumne with
you from this place
= where Yah meets
with you - where He has seperated out to meet with you.
Sh’mot 13:10 “season” moed
remember this is what
the sun and moon and stars are in the heavens so that we know when the feasts
are
.... becasue we know the signs and the seasons... so it
is easy to keep them because we know when the days - equanox.. days and
nights are equal
This also means that
we know the new years according to scripture begins at the first new moon
following the equal days and and night/ equanox which generally falls in line
with the avive /barely harvest in Israel..

We know that
14 days after that - in middle of that = full moon..and that is when the moon
is reflecting the fullness of the sun - the SON upon the earth
and that is the day
of crucifixion.
Sh’mot 27:21 “congregation”
Amos 3:3 p 462 = “to
agree”
“
“Can two walk
together, except they are in mo’edim?”
Mo’edim = agree.
This implies more
than acknowledging what Yah says is right...
but impleis that you
DO meet with him during HIS set times...
=the times that Yah
put together to display his truth to man!
if you choose other
festivals and other set times to communicate with Yah then you are getting a
false message - Becasue YHWH has only put His message in His feasts!
So in keeping with
that translation of mo’edim..
W’ayiqra
(Leviticus) 23:1-3 p 98
-
this is
concerning the feast /ote and moeds of YHWH which he shall proclaim as HOLY
CALLINGs OUT .. we also know it is
translated as church in NT... they are my feasts..not jewish feasts but the
feasts of YHWH...
Knowning in advance
Yah put the signs in the heavens to be guides and these are the terms used in
NT to describe things that chrisitanity has changed...
......to once a week communion, easter
christimas and all kinds of pagan
festivals...
Yah’s commication is
not in.. those things that He does not direct.
Mizmore
103:11-13 - a set time has come/ moed
Daniel 8:18-19 - in deep sleep
and was set up right... i will make you to know what shall be - in the moedim... the end shall be!
With these teachings
in last 60 years that messianic and the groups like us have come into being -
and the times in last
days are set in feasts = is good solid ground on which to stand upon.
Dan 11:27 and both these kings’ hearts shall be to do
mischief... for the end shall be at the time appointed
Yeshayahu
(Isaiah) 8:18 p 300 -
signs and wonders...
part our
responsibility as believers is to show forth the commuication of YHWH , --
--- but not only
that, Yah’s literal people are also signs of what YHWH has done... with the
made of people of Isra’el?? )
in the NT - this word
translated into the greek word “boule” = a paln or council... part of
assembling together..
Yah commuicating his
nature through these things...
Acts 20:27 p 799 = “the counsel”
== all the appointment and all the plans of Yah
Heb 6:17 “counsel” - one more intersting thing about Yah’s
counsel+
= it never changes....
assembling set times
/OTE = unchangable.... does not change.
firm foundation.
Matt 26:18 “time”...
many times Y’shua says
“my time has not yet come”
.... basically if you
are familiar with the Torah and haftorah... you can see when you set the
readings next to the life of Y’shua -
every 3.5 years it was read through once and that is exactly Y’shua’s ministry
was..
..... that the things
he was doing and going and roads and stood... as he spoke were all directly
related to the same Torah readings at the exact same moment he was doing it!!
Y’shua was doing more than our common
understanding of Torah - but he was acting out the “script”that Yah gave
him..so that is part of the meaning of “my time has not yet come”
even when he meets
the samaritn woman at the well and he says - i must go to Samaria.. b/c he knew
he had a divine moed there.. a divine appt by YHWH...
Matt 26:18 p 702 - “go
into the city and say.. ... my time is at hand..i will keep Pesach”...
= directly associated with feast/
Pesach.
many times used in OT
and NT
as “time” and
“visitation”
and many times -
“time and visitation” are used together in the text
because these words are related to each other

So the sun and moon
and stars are put in the shamamyim for signs and seasons....
not just to measure
time but to tell us about (when) the mo’eds the feasts of YHWH
and we are notice
when things happen on them in the heavenlies!!!

Pesach is coming up
in two weeks... and we get to celebrate
YHWH’s signs and seasons....
I want to touch on
something i am learning....
B’re’shiyt 2:17
- 3 p 10
this is about the 2
trees in Gan Eden
1. the eytz chayim
2.
and the eytz of the da’at of tov and ra.
Think about this....
.... If eating from the tree gives him
the ability to dintinguish between tov and ra - before he eats it he can’t know
the difference!
If the tree of da’at
represents the knowledge of right and wrong then Adam and Chava’s sin is a
contradicition!
When it says... “BUT
in the day you eat of it....”
this implies Adam
already knew the difference between right and wrong BEFORE he ate of it.
Therefore, whatever
knowledge comes from the Tree of the knowledge o good and evil, cannot be the
knowldge of the difference between right and wrong!
The tree does not
give us “moral awareness”... when we had none before...
rather it transformed
this awareness from ONE KIND into ANOTHER KIND.
It actually
transformed man’s awarenss from
TRUTH and LIES
to the concepts of
good and evil.
And another element
would have come with the eytz of da’at of tov and ra....
= PERSONAL DESIRE
Before eating from
the tree of tov and ra.... correct moral character/ behavior came from
listening to the voice of YHWH.
AFTER eating of tov
and ra eytz/tree... moral decisions
became based on WHAT I WANT.... good for me ... or bad for me...
Now i can decide
between what YHWH says and what i want.
....
This goes right along
with the idea of signs and seasons....
Because it is clearly
about what YHWH says... but we have to decide if we are going to follow his
mitzvot / instructions.... because he says so... and live from the eytz Chayim
or if we are going to choose what we want.... from the eytz of da’at of tov and
ra.
which will it be??
