The Daniel Deception

1 July 2017
Torah Parashah ~ Chukat (Regulation)
B’midbar (Numbers) 19:1-22:1  p 122
“Daniel Deception” - Matthew Nolan
Daniel 12:11 - better understanding based on Hebrew word study - Harbour Light Ministries

Torah Parashah
 B’midbar (Numbers) 19:1-22:1  p 122

B’midbar 19
Red Heifer Sacrifice
Mashiach Sacrifice
-    perfect, without blemish- no defect
-    yoke never came on
-    blood purifies
-    killed outside the camp
-    Temple open - curtain to Holy Place open
-    19:6 cedarwood, hyssop, scarlet - burning of heifer

B’midbar 20
- Miryam died and was buried
- No water there... and again the people come against Moshe and Aharon.
-    Moshe was told to take his rod and speak to the Rock, but instead he hit the rock
-    Yisra’el travels on and the people ask to pass through the country of Edom...  and were denied.
-    so they went to Mt Hor - where Aharon’s anointing was passed to his son El-Azar and Aharon died there. Yisra’el mourned for 30 days.

B’midbar 21

-    King Arad the Kanaanite fought against Yisra’el and took some of them prisoners.  and Yisra’el made a vow to YHUH that he would destroy thier cities and he called the place Hormah.
-    and Yisra’el left Mt Hor  by way of the Sea of Reeds.
-    And again Yisra’el spoke against YHUH - fiery serpents bit the people and many died... so Moshe takes a rod...
-    and scripture says in 21:8 that he put a serpent on it - but better translated - it should say a SERAPH on it! ... and when the people looked at the Seraph  - they were healed.
-    Yisra’el moves around... comes to the land of the Amorites... and they won’t allow Yisra’el to pass through... Yisra’el fought the Amorites and took over their cities.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~********************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Daniel deception
-    by Matthew Nolan from his Romans 12 part 2 teaching.
Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. (The place of YHWH's sanctuary is Yahusha.)
Daniel 8:11 in all known English translations has translated the
Hebrew word ‘Ruwm’ (Strong’s 7311) as “taken away”.
- This word’s meaning comes from the context of ‘rising’ or ‘raising’ and has more often than not been translated ‘exalt’ or ‘exalting’.
The word ‘Ruwm’ has been used 209 times in the Old Testament. The overwhelming support of the interpretation of this word shows us that it means ‘to rise’ or ‘exalt’.
It has several times been translated “take up” or “take from”
 but in context has always been in a sense of ‘raising’ NOT ‘taking away’ or ‘casting away’.
Daniel uses the Hebrew word ‘Ruwm’ 13 times in his book.  Of these 13 uses ALL have a context of something being raised or lifted up or exalted or being made high.
So why here is it used as ‘taken away?”
What’s really odd (weird) is in Daniel 8:11 in some manuscripts the word ‘Ruwm’ is used twice consecutively.
The literal translation of the text would read, He was magnified before the prince of the host and the daily sacrifice was exalted, the exalted cornerstone of the holy place (the messiah) was cast down.
The exalting of a daily sacrifice of bulls or goats or of any blood other than Yahusha IS THE ABOMINATION!
This can be seen in Hebrews 9:23-10:18 very clearly.
This places the prophecy of Daniel’s “midst of the week” starting with the Daily sacrifice being “called back” not being “taken away”.
And herein lies the Jewish, Messianic Jewish, Hebrew Roots and Christian Zionist deception!
Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days – 3 1/2 years.”
The Hebrew word here for “taken away” is ‘Cuwr’ (Strong’s 5493).  This word has a meaning of turning.
This translation of “taken away” appears to be in direct contrast to Daniel 8:11.
This can only be reconciled by determining what is being turned from.
It’s apparent from the context that they are turning from one thing to something that’s an abomination.
Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be called back (i.e a turning away from one realm to an abominable realm) and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days – 3 1/2 years.
Knowing that any animal or daily sacrifice is insufficient is key.
  The translation of the word ‘Cuwr’ means being “called back”.
 What this means is the Daily Sacrifice would be called back to prominence which would be turning from the true Malki Tzedik sacrifice (Yahusha) and turning to the unacceptable Levitical sacrifice (blood of bulls and goats) that the prophecy of Daniel’s “midst of the week” starts with the Daily sacrifice being “called back” not being “taken away” as Messianic’s teach!
The elevation of the blood of bulls and goats is the end time casting down the one true sacrifice (Yahusha).
Romans12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the ongoing renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is that tov, acceptable, and even the perfect, will of YHWH.
Now let me add something else:
Daniel 9: 27-28 p 445
“And he shall confirm the brit with many for one wee:  and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease and on the wing/corner of abominations shall be the one who makes it desolate, even until the complete end of the olam hazeh, which has been determined and shall e poured upon the one who lays waste.”
“offering” = 4503 - “meat offering” , “sacrificial offering,” “sacrifice.”
“desolate” - 8074 - appalled, or stunned or causing horror
“cease” - 7673 - cease or keep or observed
“wing/corner” - boarder or extremity
Sh’ma Yisra’el.
Torah Portion Tzav - Justified - Sanctified - Sacrifices and Life - March 26
Justified/Sanctified...  Sacrifices and Chaiym 3-26-16
26 March 2016  ~  16 Adar II 5776
Torah Parashah - Tzav ~ “Give an Order”
Uyiqara (Leviticus) 6:1(8) - 8:36
Ivrim (Hebrews) 10
Hebrews 10:9 - Harbour Light Ministries
Pin It
Torah: Tzav - “Give and Order”
is about sacrifice.... the Aahronic Levitical Priestly order and the sacrifices involved in that system....
Remember this system is after the Covenant that YHWH made with Avraham had been broken by Yisra’el at Mt Sinai with the golden calf....
Pesach is coming up and we want to look at what else there is - AFTER the sacrificial system.
Ivrim (Hebrews) 10: 1 - 25 p 820
Ivrim (Hebrews) 10:1-4 p 820
          “For the Torah having a “only a” shadow of tov things to come, and not the very image of the things,can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually, make those who draw near perfect.
          2 Otherwise would they not have ceased to be offered? Because then the worshippers once cleansed, should have had no more awareness of their sins.
          3 But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
          4 For it is impossible that the dahm (blood) of bulls and goats can take away sins.”
Matthew Nolan said.... “The sacrificial rites were a band-aid to the relationship, they could never heal and restore the relationship, let alone improve it!”
Ivrim 10:9  p 820
          “Then He said, Behold, I come to do Your will, O YHWH.  He takes away (Greek = ananero) the first sacrificial system, that He may establish the second (Melchizedek).
ananero = to abolish or get rid of by execution, to destroy
Ivrim 10:10-14
          10“By that desire we aren now kadosh (sanctified) through the offering of the body of Yahusha haMoshiach once for all.
          11 And every kohen stands daily serving and offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
          12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins le-olam-va-ed, sat down as the right had of YHWH.
          13 Waiting from then on until all His enemies are made His footstool.
          14 For by one offering He has perfected le-olam-va-ed them that are being set-apart.”
This is interesting because the Kohen haGadol - stood until the last sacrifice of the day was complete - and then he sat down - until the next day when it started again!
Ivrim 10:14
          “For by one offering He has perfected le-olam-va-ed them that are being set-apart.
We don’t have to keep bringing sacrifices!  Praise Yahuah !
 Yahusha was the ONE sacrifice that brought atonement for us!!
~~
Look back at
Ivrim 10:12-14 “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins le-olam-va-ed, sat down as the right hand of YHWH; 13 Waiting from then on until all His enemies are made His footstool.14 For by one offering He has perfected le-olam-va-ed them that are being set-apart.”
-He is expecting - waiting, until the fulfillment of Psalm110 (all his enemies being underfoot).
He’s sitting and waiting.....because His work is finished!  (Remember the Kohen HaGadol sat down when the sacrifices were done for the day.)
Ivrim 10:14 “For by one offering He has perfected le-olam-va-ed them that are being set-apart”
“Has perfected”
Strong’s G 5048 = teleioō
1           to make perfect, complete, to carry through completely, to accomplish, finish, bring to an end, to complete (perfect)
             -add what is yet wanting in order to render a thing full
             -to be found perfect
   2 to bring to the end (goal) proposed
   3 to accomplish
             -bring to a close or fulfillment by event
                       -of the prophecies of the scriptures
Justification (salvation) - a new position for those who repent...
OK - so what if we are - as Matthew Nolan says .... “ assured of a permanent maintenance in right relationship with יהוה” - because it says -  “‘a permanent perfection’ is brought to the saints.... ?
Nolan goes on to say - “The point is driven home by use of the Greek verb, ‘teteleioken’  - ‘has perfected’
          This emphasizes the permanent nature of Yahusha’s sacrifice!
-    So let’s make sure we can see this - in contrast to all the sacrifices that went on in the Levitical priesthood!
Ivrim 10:10 and 10:14:
Ivrim 10:10 “By that desire we aren now kadosh (sanctified) through the offering of the body of Yahusha haMoshiach once for all.
Ivrim 10:14 “For by one offering He has perfected le-olam-va-ed them that are being set-apart (sanctified).
Kadosh and being set-apart ====
 == Both are Strong’s G37.....and this is a present passive participle ‘hagiazomenous’ ‘them that are being set apart’.
What is “kadosh”  and “being set apart”  in our bibles is “sanctified” in King James
Strong’s G37 =hagiazō = to render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or hallow
2           to separate from profane things and dedicate to God
1           consecrate things to God
2           dedicate people to God
3           to purify
1           to cleanse externally
2           to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin
3           to purify internally by renewing of the soul
The Greek word “hagiazomenous” / has perfected / “being set apart”
- “BEING set apart” is a continual work... an ongoing process!
This is not - one prayer to repent and that’s it!
This is an ongoing process ...
Halacha = walk....
How do you walk?? Are you walking kadosh??
~
Matthew Nolan talked about how
          “Pastors amalgamate  sanctification and justification.”
 amalgamated, amalgamating.
1.to mix or merge so as to make a combination; blend; unite; combine:
to amalgamate two companies.
Nolan’s point is that if these words are mixed...  then this denies the believer  - the fear of Yahuah ...
 - by amalgamating sanctification and justification - they deny the fear of YHWH...
Nolan says - “If you don’t understand that the tenant of your salvation is justification = a positional change...
that then THRUSTS you - into a life long race of sanctification.”
You are in trouble because you really don’t understand the fear of YHWH.
Once you become justified - (I think this is at TESHUVA), and this is a positional change - that is supposed to thrust you into a life long race of sanctification... you never stop running it.
So you come to understand you are a sinner - and you repent and ask to be forgiven... = this is justification...
it is a positional change
and
You have no option...
.... the fruit of justification is = you enter the race of sanctification....
This is what Shaul writes throughout his works.
I Corinthians 9:24 p 857
          “Don’t you know that they who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize?  So when you run run in such a way that you may obtain it.”
Matthew Nolan taught -
“If you can change the terms, then you can control the language then you can control the  people... and that is what the church has done...by amalgamating these two terms.”
I think he is making the point that in Christianity - justification and sanctification seem to run together... both sort of one thing....you get “saved”... and then you are just happy that “Jesus loves you!” ...
... and you never learn how to have your halacha so that Yahuah is pleased with you and blessed by you....
You’ve had a positional change....  meaning now you have done at least part of TESHUVAH (repent and return to YHWH)... you’ve done the repentance... but nobody teaches how to return to YHWH....
So you are in a new position, but you haven’t necessarily taken one step....
and it is in the steps - the walk - the halacha - that we are SANCTIFIED = made kadosh / holy.
The deal is supposed to be - you recognize you are a sinner...
and there is not one thing you can do to create atonement for your sins...
only the blood of Mashiach Yahusha atones for me....
and this is where most of our society stops....  “got saved”...
but we are supposed to become / live kadosh (holy).... we are supposed to have our halacha in HIS instructions - His Torah! (being sanctified)
and this walk... this halacha - is the race that Shaul is talking about in
I Corinthians 9:24!  :)
But if there is no direction on HOW to have halacha in Torah - or even that one SHOULD...
Then the church is left with  one of three kinds of persons:
1. Immature but very HUNGRY - desperately moving from one study to another looking for that Spiritual “meat”....
2.     Blind sheeple that have no idea that there even should be more let alone - that there is more.
3.    Persons who leave the “faith” - because it is so empty and powerless.
So if we SEE - we come to understand that JUSTIFICATION is just a positional change...
AND now you are at the starting line - you have met Mashiach (Messiah) -the Living Torah - and now you are ready to learn to run in the written Torah (instructions).
So, let’s talk about the story in
Mattityahu 20:1-16 = about the land owner who went out in the morning and hired some workers....and then went out again in the third hour and hired others, and then at the 11th hour he hired some more workers .... and they all got paid the same!!!...
Does this bother you??
Why do we work so hard?  Why are we, or why SHOULD we be -  intentional at keeping Torah??...
Why should we live counter culture....???!!!
Well I was asking the same thing....
**
Let’s look at another story:
The Rich Young Ruler
Matthew 19:16-30 p 694
Eddie Chumney has some interesting things to say about this story...and I will base what I am going to say to you on his teaching....
Eddie said, “Almost 100% of the time when I have heard the rich young ruler preached in church, it has been preached in the context of salvation.
But, as I will explain, salvation was NOT the question or the explanation given.
          - It was about being the GREATEST in the Kingdom of Heaven.”
 Matthew 19:16, the rich young ruler asked:
          “Tov Master, what tov thing shall I do, that I may have eternal chayim (life) in the olam haba?”
          (“Olam haba = world, or age to come; The reward of the redeemed”)
Eddie says - “Most commonly ETERNAL LIFE,  which is the Strong's word (2222) and is the Greek word, "ZOE" has been equated within Christianity as  ----  SALVATION.”
“But the Greek word ZOE means "the most abundant life their is".
 In Yochanan (John) 10:10 p 765  Yahusha said:
          “I am come that they might have chayim, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
“Chayim” (life) = Strong’s 2222
“More abundantly” = the highest form of life.
“The opposite of the ZOE life is the PSUCHE life.
The PSUCHE life is the ‘life of the flesh; the fleshly life or the self-willed life’.
”The ZOE life is the "life of the Spirit - completely yielding your life in obedience to YHWH and His Will for your life".
-   So he came and asked - how can I be happy?... how can I have more?....
-   we know that the USA is one of the wealthiest countries - but most people are not happy.....  “stuff” doesn’t make one happy.
-   “Stuff” doesn’t give one ABUNDANT LIFE!!
Yochanan (John) 12:25 p 768
          “He that loves his chayim (life) shall lose it; and he that has no concern for his chayim in the olam hazeh shall keep it to chayim eternal.”
"He that loves his chayim/ life = Strong’s = 5590 = PSUCHE = self-willed life
he that has no concern for his chayim / life = (5590 = PSUCHE = self-willed life)
in the olam hazeh shall keep it to LIFE (ZOE = 2222) ETERNAL"
So, ZOE (2222) is the MOST ABUNDANT LIFE (John 10:10).
Zoe is the HIGHEST LIFE you can live.
The PSUCHE life is the fleshly life that wars against the ZOE life.
We are to lay down our PSUCHE (fleshly life) to have the ZOE (spirit life of Yahuah).
We are to hate our PSUCHE life (the desires of the flesh that are at enmity against Yahuah and His Will for our lives)
and to seek the ZOE life (the Spirit life).
Yahusha laid down His PSUCHE life (the will of the flesh),
          to obtain the ZOE  life,
          which was to do the Will of Yahuah
          and to die on the tree for the sins of the world.
Yochanan (John) 10:17 p 765
          “Therefore does My Abba love Me, because I lay down My chayim (psuche life), that I might take it again.”
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Yahusha yielded his PSUCHE life for the ZOE life of Yahuah.
Mattityahu 26:38  p 703
          “Then said He to them, My being (psuche) is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death: stay here, and watch with Me.”
Chai 2416 is the corresponding Hebrew word for Zoe 2222.
Nephesh 5315 is the corresponding Hebrew word for psuche 5590
“So, the rich young ruler in Mattityahu 19:16 wanted to know what he needed to do to have  -- “ETERNAL LIFE” (or ZOE = 2222 which is the
HIGHEST LIFE which spiritually BEGINS with salvation but really refers to SPIRITUAL MATURITY).
Did you get that?...
          ...Zoe life /chayim - BEGINS with salvation - repenting of sins... a positional CHANGE - and then begins the halacha - the running it out = the maturing!
The rich young ruler indicates that he has kept the commandments of Yahuah  (Mattityahu 19:17-19)
and he then asked in
Mattityahu 19:20:
          “All these things have i kept from my youth up: what do I lack yet?”
and Yahusha replied:
Mattityahu 19:21
          “If you will be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in the shamayim; and come and follow Me.”
“perfect” = teleios, Strongs G5046 = mature
This corresponds with the Hebrew word tamim =
tamim = “to be spiritually mature”...
=“which is the same concept as having ZOE = the fullness of the Spirit led life of Yahuah = abundant life!!!”
So Yahusha is answering the Rich Young Ruler -
          -by telling him that he needed to have
                    Zoe - abundant life
                    and be Teleios  = spiritually mature
Even the talmidim (disciples didn’t understand what Yahusha was saying .....
          Spiritual Maturity IS the Highest Reward in the kingdom of heaven ....
because they asked in
Mattityahu 19:25
          “Who then can be saved?”
Yahusha’s response tells us that He was talking about: “what was required to have the HIGHEST PLACE  in heaven (the Zoe) life of Yahuah....
just like Kefa replied in
Mattityahu 19:27
          “Then answered Kepha and said to Him, See, we have forsaken all, and followed You; (unlike the rich young ruler- they followed Yahusha completely)    --- what shall we have therefore?”
Yahusha says
 Matthew 19:28
          “Truly I say to you, Those of you who have followed Me, in the regeneration (Olam haba, age to come, Messianic age) when the Ben Ahdahm (Son of Man) shall sit on the kesay of His esteem, you also shall sit upon the 12 thrones, (the HIGHEST PLACE AND RANK in heaven),  administering mishpat over the 12 tribes of Yisra’el (all the other believers who are less in the kingdom).”
*
So... the Rich Young Ruler was asking what he needed to do to have the HIGHEST PLACE (ZOE)  in the Kingdom of Heaven - LIFE RIGHT THEN....  he was saying - i have stuff... but what do i do to have ZOE/TAMIM - abundant and spiritually mature life???!!!
The rich young ruler FAILED to give up his self-willed life (PSUCHE) and completely follow Yahusha.
However, the disciples DID - so Yahusha promised them that, unlike the rich young ruler, ...
          ... they will SIT ON THRONES (highest position in kingdom of heaven, which corresponds to the POSITION OF THE BRIDE .
This tells me there are levels in eternity... I don’t know what that looks like... or means... but clearly not everyone is the same.
Rev 5:10 p 914
          “And have made us melechim ad Kohanim to our Aloah: and shall reign in the olam.”
“ and judge the twelve tribes of Israel (all the other believers who are saved and in the kingdom of heaven).”
Tamim and Zoe are concepts of spiritual maturity which are characteristic of the Bride of Mashiach!
***
I am reminded of the verse that stuck out so clearly to me last Shabbat:
Yechezkel (Ezekiel) 22:26 p 410
          “Her kohanim have violated My Torah, and have profaned My kadosh things:  they have put no difference between the kadosh and profane, neither have they shown any difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My Shabbats, and I am profaned among them.”
~ Nobody is teaching the people how to run!!
~ Nobody is teaching the people how to have halacha (your walk/run) - the way you live...  in Yahuah’s instructions!!
~ So most people don’t know what is kadosh and what is not kadosh, or how to live kadosh,
~ Most people don’t know the difference between the clean and the unclean.... so they consume things that are not food!  (And we wonder why we have so much disease!)
~ Most people do not have any understanding of Shabbat - 7th day Sabbath Rest.
~ Most people do not know the name of the Living Alohiym - they just call Him “God”... and so He has been profaned... they have forgotten his name - or His name has come to a place of not being used...
~~ And nobody is teaching them.
~They don’t even know...
= Very much a crisis state of affairs - very apparent this weekend... as the pagan-ness burns brightly.
Ivrim 13:10-13 p 823
10“We have an altar, from which they have no right to eat, who serve the earthly Tent of Meeting.
11For the bodies of those beasts, whose dahm is brought into the Kadosh-Place by the Kohen HaGadol for sin, are burned outside the camp.
12 Therefore Yahusha  also,, that He might set-apart the people of Yisra’el with His own dahm, suffered outside the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
Let us NOT go to the 3rd temple made by man!
IT is horrific that they don’t know - and this is a difficult way to live
BUT they only way those that are hungry are ever going to have an opportunity is ...
if we, and people like us have our halacha in Yahuah’s instructions - keeping His Torah....
Is it difficult?
To live counter culture?   - you bet it is.
It is SACRIFICE....
BUT....
I don’t know about you - but I bow at the altar outside the camp....
to the ONE whose sacrifice covers all of sin for all time.
and in so doing... I choose to bear the reproach He bore.
Because we are called to be the Bride!
Justified with a positional change because of our repentance...
and
Sanctified as we live - Zoe - abundant life, and tamim - spiritually mature ....
B're'shiyt 11 v'choshek, al-p'ney, t'hom.... March 8
B’re’shiyt 10 - v’choshek’
**  **  **  **  **  **
Sh’ma
**  **  **  **  **  **
Torah Parashah Vayikra ~  “and He called”
Vay-yiq’ra 1:1- 5:26  cjb p 109
B’re’shiyt teaching - “v’choshek”, ‘al-p’ney, t’hom
 **  **  **  **  **  **  **
Torah Parashah:
Vay’yiq’ra - Leviticus - “And He called”
-“the book of sacrifices”
This book tells us how to be in relationship with YHWH = with sacrifice.
YHWH calls Moshe from the Tent of Meeting - the Mishkan, and gives him the laws of the korbanot - the animal and meal offerings brought in the Sanctuary.
These include: the “ascending offering” (olah) that is wholly raised to YHWH by the fire atop the Altar;
Five varieties of “meal offering” (michah) prepared with fine flour, olive oil and Frankincense.
The “peace offering” (shelamim) whose meat was eaten by the one bringing the offering, after parts are burned on the Altar and parts are given to the Kohanim (priests).
The different types of “sin offering” (chatat) brought to atone for transgressions committed erroneously by the High Priest, the entire community, the king, or the ordinary Jew;
The “guilt offering” (asham) brought by one who has appropriated property of the Sanctuary, who i in doubt as the whether he transgressed a divine prohibition, or who has committed a “betrayal against YHWH” by swearing falsely to defraud a fellow man.
*
Yayikra 3:1 cjb p 112
“If a person who is a witness, sworn to testify, sins by refusing to tell what he has seen or heard about the matter, he must bear the consequences”
So what is the big deal??....
Well let’s go to:
 Mattityahu 26:63 cjb p 1259
“Yahshua remained silent.  The cohen hagadol said to him, “I put you under oath!  By the living God, tell us if you are the Mashiach, the Son of God!”
So what oath is the cohen hagadol talking about??
The Trespass  Offering of Vay’yakra /Lev 5:1.
What this means is... when the cohen hagadol said... “I put you under oath...”
He was putting Yahshua in a trap.
If Yahshua didn’t answer - he would be guilty of sin - b/c according to the trespass offering - if he knew he had to say - or it was a sin.
And if Yahshua was really the Son of God....  He couldn’t sin..... and if he did - he would violate his perfect sacrifice...
Hence Yahshua’s answer in
Mattityahu 26: 64 cjb p 1259
“The words are your own.  ....”
*
Let’s return to talking about sacrifices...
Yahshua came to show us how to live Torah  - and He gave up his life....
May we give up our life - and not be about what we want, but what HE wants.
May we pray and mean it - “not my will, but thine will be done.”
This idea is the point of the binding of Yitz’chak /Isaac and the potential sacrifice of him.
We are called to live for HIM.... to climb up on the altar and give up our selves...
Romans 12:1-2 cjb p 1416
“I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in view of YHWH’s mercies, to offer yourselves as a sacrifice, living and set apart for YHWH.  This will please him; it is the logical “Temple Worship” for you. 2 In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of the ‘olam hazeh.  Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what YHWH wants and will agree that what he wants  is good, satisfying and able to succeed.”
The sacrifices were a way to get close to YHWH and connect with Him.
This is prophetic of Mashiach Yahshua....we see Him in every single sacrifice....
~
So this parashah is about sacrifice....
but the title is “And He called”....
What does calling have to do with this??
YHWH calls Moshe the prophet ... and then HE talks about sacrifice.
This brings us back to what we have talked about before....
What do we give YHWH?
How do spend our time?
our money?
our energy?
How do we take care of our temples?
What are you giving YHWH??
B’re’shiyt teaching from Brad Scott’s work...
p 3 in your study guide:
B’re’shiyt 1:1
“B’re’shiyt  bara  Elohiym  ‘ET  hashamayim  v’et  ha’aretz.”
“In the beginning created Elohiym the heaven and the earth.”
p 10 in your study guide:
B’re’shiyt 1:2a
“V’ha’arets  hay’tah  tohu vavohu  v’choshek  al-p’ney  t’hom.”
“And the earth was/became without form and void.   and darkness was upon the the face of the deep.”
~
Remember last shabbat we talked about VAVOHU and we said it means
“astonishingly confused”.... ?..
hasatan’s mission is to confuse the natural - the “seen” = What we see in the world... so that we don’t understand the spiritual.  Because the seen - the physical - is designed to explain or teach us the spiritual.
*
B’re’shiyt teaching...
Today we are going to begin our B’re’shiyt study with
Vchoshek
(vekoshek)
“V’ha’arets  hay’tah  tohu vavohu  v’choshek  al-p’ney  t’hom.”
The Hebrew letters are:
chet - shin - kaph
 V’CHOSHEK is translated as - darkness
and is associated with the earth being without form and void….
nothing but darkness…..
Again - if you are going to say that YHWH created the world dark empty and void
…… then you are going to have to assume He created it in darkness.
I dont believe that is Yahs desireor plan
  He created - bara -ed it - a completed work
… and something happened…. and we believe it is then that hasatan fell.
Luke 10: 18 cjb p 1306
“Yahshua said to them, “i saw satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
Yesha’Yahu / Isaiah 14: 12-14 cjb p 458
In Breshiyt 1:2 is the renewing process. …
… He begins renewing in darknessbut He didnt create it in darkness…
This is the same pattern as with Nakdimon (Nicodemus) - coming to Yahshua in the nightfor renewing in Yochanan 3.
There he was coming to Mashiach in the night….
and Mashiach… brings His light in.
-Nakdimon (Nicodemus)  ….A man sitting on the 71 member highest Hebrew ruling council - the Sanhedrin….  in darkness… but he knew enough to come… he came at night to Mashiach to talk with him… b/c he couldn’t be seen going in the day…. He was a Pharisee who didn’t know Truth, but he “got” enough to want to come and ask - to pursue understanding Truth at the risk of his reputation.
And Mashiach speaks Truth / light.. into his darkness…
and right here in B’re’shiyt 1:2… we have the word V’CHOSHEK  = “darkness”
darkness = VCHOSHEK
vav = and
chet - shin - kof
V’CHOSHEK  -is based on the word “choshek" -= chet -shin -kof
It literally means.. to be dark
… it is speaking of something without light…
It is also translated as  = dim, blackness, obscurity…
and also translated as CONFUSION
page 12 of your study guide:
Sh’mu’el Alef 2:9 / I Sam 2:9  cjb p 300
“He will guard the steps of his faithful, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness.”
darkness= V’choshek.
(Is this the way we think YHWH created?)
Iyov /Job 15:20-30 cjb p 1010
= Those who follow hasatan are his childrenand they live in darkness.
Psalm 18:28  - cjb p 805
“For you, YHWH, light my lamp; YHWH, my Elohiym, lights up my darkness.”  = “darkness” = C’choshek.
Psalm 35:4-6 confusion” “dark”
-Do you see the association of being confounded and confused with darkness? !!
Proverbs /Mishlei 2:13  “in ways of darkness”
Mishlei 20:20 “darkness”
Yesha’Yahu Isaiah 5:20  cjb p 43
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness (V’choshek) into light and light into darkness (V’choshek).”
The adversary - hasatan -  made the world a wilderness - YHWH didn’t do that!
II Corinthians 4:3-6 cjb p 1443
In this - darkness is directly attributed to hasatan.
Now let’s look at something challenging...
Yesha’Yahu /Is 45:7 cjb p 507
“I form light, i create darkness (V’choshek); I make well-being, i create woe; I YHWH do all these things...
 hmm
“I form light and create darkness…”
 Hasatan fell - and as result of that fall he is  - out of the Word of YHWH.
We can see that already in the beginning with YHWHwe have curses and blessings.
 The first result of the darkness was b/c someone had already fallen.
This seems complicated... but...
YHWH doesnt create sin /hatah / darkness ... It is a curse
the rejection of light = It is darkness.
These words - sin / hatah /darkness/ curse / rejection f light - are words associated together.
Torah is referred to as light in scriptures,
Mizmor /Psalm 119:105 cjb p 916
“Your word is a lamp for my foot and a light on my path.”
Path = “agol” = cycles of YHWH ... Hebrew holidays...shabbats etc....
~
But we are now dealing with the darkness.
In Hebrew thinking there are certain terms associated  with light and with darkness and night, that are used with respect to the nature of people as well...
I Thessalonians 5:1-3 cjb p 1476  -concerning the Day of YHWH (the LORD) …
Hebrew seasons are marked by the sun and moon and Hebrews knew that was directly related to the first and second coming…
Shaul was speaking of his brethren Yahudeem and was quoting ...
Amos 5: 18 -21cjb p 737
“Woe to you who want the Day of YHWH!  Why do you want it, this Day of  YHWH?  It is darkness (V’choshek), not light; as if someone were to run from a lion, just to be met by a bear; as if he entered a house, put his hand on the wall, just to be bitten by a snake.  Won’t the Day of YHWH be darkness (V’choshek), not light, completely dark, with no brightness at all? I hate, i utterly loathe your festivals; i take no pleasure in your solemn assemblies...”
... The Day of YHWH is darkness = v’choshek.
It begins in darkness for those who do not know YHWH.
They are called the sons of the night.
But those who know YHWH and have Torah have no darkness (v’choshek) and they know this b/c the times and seasons are given in the beginning.
~
Brad says...
most christians today- start reading the book of Yochanan /John - not Breshiyt.. so they dont know the times and seasons - plus this isnt taught
And most christians have no concept of teaching and theology of Torah  - the WORD....
And -   probably the BEST thing that the best studiers in christianity get out of “Genesis” - is that it was not evolution but creation!
But YHWH says... you who know the times and seasons are not in the darknessbut are the “sons of light”.. While the other is the “sons of darkness”
In Hebrew thinking  - the sons of darkness -  are those without Torah.
Those who are “sons of the light” - are the ones with Torah.
Those who dont know Torah - who follow hasatan belong to the lawless one.
We have to understand that the association with darkness and wickedness and confusion.. and we see this revealed in the lawless one in the END.
Amos 5: 18 -21cjb p 737
“Woe to you who want the Day of YHWH!  Why do you want it, this Day of  YHWH?  It is darkness (V’choshek), not light; as if someone were to run from a lion, just to be met by a bear; as if he entered a house, put his hand on the wall, just to be bitten by a snake.  Won’t the Day of YHWH be darkness (V’choshek), not light, completely dark, with no brightness at all? I hate, i utterly loathe your festivals; i take no pleasure in your solemn assemblies...”
Amos is talking to a people who have their own feast days and solemn assemblies - acknowledge Godbut dont serve him right…
Anti messiah already in the earth
Yochanan Aleph / I John 4:3 cjb p 1527
“ and every spirit which does not acknowledge Yahshua is not of YHWH - in fact, this is the spirit of the Anti-Messiah, you have heard that he is coming.  Well, he’s here now, in the world already!”
We have to remember...
only Torah is referred to as the LIGHT in Scriptureand ...
....HE is thee light of the world.
Rabbinical remarks on p 12 in study guide
Darkness was to obscure the Aleph-Tav thereby obscuring the object of Aleph-Tav - creation.
This is what we’ve been saying... that hasatan’s plan is to astonishingly confuse what we see in the natural... so that we believe lies about YHWH.
**  **  **  **  **  **  **
Let’s go to page 13 of your study guide and we are going to talk about the word...
Al-pney
“al” = on,  or about
= tzade - lamed
= it is a preposition
“pney”   = is from the root - pahah
panah = focus attention =  pey -nun- hey
  related to paniym = face, presence, before, countenance
this is a vital word to understanding the phrase - “and Yah saw Moshe face to face”.  It really is saying.... to focus attention  on
Translated primarily as “FACE” in Scriptureand “presence” and “before” (like standing before or in front of),  and countenance
_ When you remember someone, it is their face you recall - not their arms, legs, back etc…   =  something that you would remember / have intimate relationship
B’Midbar 6:22-27 cjbp 153  Aahronic benediction…
“face shine upon you and give you peace...”
Aren’t thesethe things we are seeking of YHWH??!!....
If we seek “a hand” in Hebrew - we want them to give us something
 But when we seek his face - we want to be intimate with Him.  ... Seeking Him in our liveslooking for his presence in us and surrounding us…   not literally the head/facebut to be in the Presence..
paniym el paniym = “face to face”
Not that Moshe saw his facebut it is about His presence
In your study guide on page 13... we have some references where
‘al-p’ney is used...
Breshiyt 6:11 cjb p 6 - the implied word --before”   - “the entire earth was corrupt before HIM”
Shmot 6:12  in the presence of YHWH
Bmidbar 6:25 countenance- or - “way behaving” or “their presence”
II Corinthians 4:6 cjb p 1443 - in the face of Yahshua the Messiahnotice the contrast - going back to the light out of the darknessbut the contrast is the light of the Mashiach - His Presence
Mizmor 23:5
Shmot 25:30 - shewbread= lehem panim
There was no presence of YHWH at this time... so .... ie no light.
THOM
= “the deep”
hey- vac - men
From the Hebrew word - “hum” = agitate, deep, depths, - to destroy, great noise.
Hum- hey- vac- mem
All this  - the agitate, deep, depths, to destroy and a great noise....has to do with something that happened between B’re’shiyt 1:1 and 1:2
Dvaryim 7:23  cjb p 206- destroy=hum
Dvariym 28:20  cjb p 228 curses= hum
Mizmor 36:6 - judgment and deep -associated
Mizmor 42:8 (7) cjb p 832
“Deep is calling to deep  at the thunder of your waterfalls; all your surging rapids and waves are sweeping over me.”
  Get this....”deep” is associated with “noise”
Noise also associated  with - “The ways of the west and the multitudes”!!!!!
Mizmor 71:20 cjb p 860
“you have made me see much trouble and hardship, but you will revive me again, and bring me up from the depths (t’hom) of the earth.”
Hitgalut Revelation 2:24 cjb p 1535  depths of hasatan
“But to the rest of you in Thyatira, to those who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some people call the “deep things” of the Adversary, I say this: i  am not loading you up with another burden; “
T’Hom = to agitate - destruction - great noise.. and wickedness..
and in the NT….
There are 3 Greek words for deepin the New Testament
abussos - bottomless pit (cast down, foundation… wickedness and destruction all directly associated with each other…
- Hitgalut 20:1,3
- “deep” - Romans 10:7 - who shall descend from the deep … and bring up the Messiah…  apparently the Messiah went down there.. Eph 4 to set captives free..
b. bathos - deepness -
Luke 5:4 - “deep”
Hitgalut 2:24 - deep,
Ephesians 3:18- depths
 kuma - “waves” - “the deep” in the Tanakh.
  Mattityahu 14:24 cjb p 1242
“But by this time, the boat was several miles from shore, battling a rough sea and a headwind.”
The “waves” - “rough sea” is t’hom.
We need to see the association  of B’re’shiyt / Genesis and Hitgalut / Revelation....
... and how this word is assoc. with hasatan…
Ychezqel / Ezekiel  26:19 cjb p 593
YHWH uses hasatan to accomplish these things.
YHWH removes himself from protection and hasatan just jumps right in
YHWHs desire from beginning was to have His spirit on usbut He takes His hand from us…
YHWH removesreally.... we remove His hand from us…
This is what it is going to be in the latter days when the earth is destroyed and all who follow the waster will go where the waster goes…
YHWH is not doing this…   ~~ We have removed His blessings and the waster comes
Those things that he has spoken of that will happen - will take place - destruction will come up on the earthout of the Word…
He doesn’t work like Greek godsno - he takes his hand off and the waster will do the curses…
When we obey = blessings. and his hand is on us...
.......but when we disobey we are cursed and His hand is removed
**
At this point in the Torah of B’re’shiyt -  we have the heavens and the earth and then we get the waters.
There is no mention of the creation of the waterswe cant tell what the earth looked like
but we do know the shamyim contain the water…
so
i believe the heavens contained the water and the earth was just mass and matter and when chaos ensued b/c of the fall.. .
.......there was corruption in the waters in the deep and the first thing he does is move over the face of the waters and later on the waters are divided
So it is the waters that is going to cleanse all things - ie baptism/ immersion
The first thing Yah does is he cleanses and restores the waters.
All things come from the waters.. the earth is going to come out of the waters…
YHWH begins with cleansing…
this is background for why in the end there is going to be a new heaven and new earth
***   ***
Let’s talk a bit about creation/evolution ...
I believe B’re’shiyt 1:1 is a finished workthe restoration is day 1…  and then we have a chronology we can track..  the actual age of the earth…  i believe in a young earth…not an earth that is millions of years old.
It’s true - hasatan preexisted in heavens and turned as matter of his choice and will,  to disobey and fallhe is part of the creation -
Brad points out that... there is much
science evidence of young earth.
Those who believe in evolution - they us a method to extrapolate things out.... and extrapolated backwards based on samplingsthey take a span of time we can measure now - like 20 years.. and  measure the changes in things..
--like how much the moon moves away from the earth.  we can measure that…   = this is true science.
 But they have to assume that all things are equal - no acceleration or deceleration.   and they use this methodology to prove certain things..
but by but using the same methodology - we can find evidence for a young earth…
IE - One of the issues =   it was told if population keeps growing .. the earth will be over populated in 70s and then 80s etcetc.
The truth is.. you can actually fit.. if stood everyone up an each had a square foot of roomyou could put the entire population of the earth inside the city limits of Jacksonville Fl.
6 billion people is a lot of people…  but you can fit them shoulder to shoulder in the city limits of Jacksonville. Now granted - we wouldn’t want to live like this... but it is not the number of people that are a problem...but the pollution and the distribution of food.
So let’s use the same logic of evolutionists.... we extrapolate the population increase backwards…  in same way..
1985 - there were about 5 billion people
1800 - about 1 billion people
30 AD - about 250 million people..
  so based on evolutionist’s  own theory ... AND... not by coincidence we end up around 6000 years ago we end up with a population of about 10 people.  Noah’s Ark time!!
If we do what evolutionists say… the earth is millions of years old.. then using that same theory.. the population of the world would be…
150 thousand people per sq inch
If we multiply it in the same rate since 30 Ad…
is it a coincidence if we use that same methodthat we go back to a handful of people right when the Bible says…??!!
We know that the moon, as it circles the earthvery slowly is moving away
now, using this same logic if man came on even a million years ago
If it is moving away - then it was closer…
This would mean that a million years ago the moon was so close to the earth that the tides would have wiped out every living things two times a day. - based on the same logic as the evolutionists!.
Based upon the same logic .....at our trip to moon in 1969… It was believed that the dust on the moon would be very deep.
…  They expected Neil Armstrong to step off the module and step into 4 feet thickness of dust… instead it was an inch or two
comets… every time we see them they are losing material… extrapolate that back  in time based on material they lose… and science says “about” 10 k years ago…
... while i believe that we are nearing the end of 6,000 years...
Another example...
....we know the earth is spinning slower - not by much, but it is spinning slower.. so there was a time when it was spinning faster.. and if earth was millions years old - nothing would have stayed on b/c it would have been spinning too fast if you extrapolate the math backwards.
We know that based on the expansion of the Sahara Desert and we …measure the rate of that expansion and take it backwards.. they figure the beginning - is around 4k BC
the oldest known tree is about 4300 years old…
all linguists agree that writing is traced back to about 5k BC
and on and on..
This is also true with stalactites and stalagmites.
Scientists would come up with theories that they are millions of  years… but we can measure how long it takes for these things to grow.. we come up with thousands  of years - not millions!
we’ve had things built by man…
The Bonatear (?) mines… in Missouri - men dug them - huge mining caverns under a city...
….  and when men were done doing the mining - they filled it with water.
And what you have down there is also the stalactites and stalagmites…. a couple feet high and the mines are 100 years old…  and they are already the size of science claiming they are millions of years old….
There are stalagtites/mites from the Lincoln Memorial…. and they obviously not millions of years old!
We also know that they thought it took millions of years for a tree/ forest to be petrified….  but we know in the Mt St Helen’s eruption - it took between a few days and instantaneously !!
*
The reality is... according to Brad Scott... that the BEST - most studied christians - only are beginning to get that the world did not evolve but was created - in seven days....
But they have no idea about nearly all of Torah!!
*
This Torah portion is about sacrifices...  unto YHWH.
Learning to live and do an be as HE calls us too...
Keep in mind that if a person brought a sacrifice without a sincere and repentant heart... then the sacrifice meant nothing.
It was no more than an animal dying for no reason.
We see this today in persons who say the have received Mashiach, but there is no  repentance....
So why is YHWH so particular about all the sacrifices?... It isn’t enough that someone brought a sacrifice but it had to be done in an exact way?
It is human nature to want to do things our own way...  and when we don’t understand Torah... there is no Torah  to stand on to make any decision based on Truth.
There are are many reasons for wanting to do it our own way...  human nature, as i said... or perhaps because someone we love/d and respect/ed told us this is how we do it...
But just because we were taught to do something from birth, doesn’t make it right.
What makes it right is that it lines up with Torah - YHWH’s instructions.
Consider the season we are coming into...  Pesach/ Passover...
I was taught to celebrate easter as the time of Yahshua’s resurrection.
We always had new clothes and  to quote Mike Clayton... “went to church a bit early because there was going to be a larger crowd that day, made up largely of people whom we had not seen since Christmas.
After the service we would go home and eat ham” and then it was hunting for colored easter eggs.
“We did all these things not in honor of the false god of fertility that easter is really about.  We did it unknowingly because through the years men had taken the way YHWH had told us to offer worship unto Him and changed it into something far from His ways.”
and it takes a lot of sacrifice to teshuvah -to return to YHWH’s ways...
But He’s always asked for sacrifice.
There will be sacrifices when He returns....
What sacrifice do you offer?? -- He’s calling...
