Brad Scott’s B’re’shiyt teaching B’re’shiyt 1:1

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 46:10 p 329 RSTNE
“Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.”

-Usually it is taught that Yah knows the end in the beginning.

-In Hebrew it says that YHUH declares the end IN the beginning.

Our Scriptures should say
Declaring the end IN the beginning - not FROM.

1. first we will read about creation ... completed
          and then the fall
          and then the restoration
and eventually we will see new heaven and new earth

2.     Second we will read about man -complete
          and then the fall
          and then the restoration restore
and man kind waiting for a new body

3 and collectively Isra’el...  created
          and then the fall
and then restoration by Messiah as revealed in prophets in
          and in the Tanakh
and then the Bride is made complete and whole in the end...

PARDES
Pashat - actual story on page - simple meaning
Remez -  reading between the lines
Derash- how it compares with other Scriptures, not explicit           in text
Sod - prophetic / deeper/ mystical

We need to remember -
Hebrew begins in / based in -  agriculture!
YHUH shows us the seen so we understand the unseen!

B’re’shiyt 1:1

7 Hebrew words start the scriptures - 6 are translated, one is not...

B’re’shiyt = “in the beginning”

= three letter consonant root = raw word that begins all Hebrew words.

Brad says ....
if Hebrew is the mother tongue - the  basis for which all words come from = the Hebrew 3 letter root,
and this Hebrew 3 letter root will always reflect the action.

IE - Mississippi River - all kinds of stuff dumped in it...
many of us have been drinking out of Mississippi River as it dumps into gulf... but it begins at the source... clean (or a lot cleaner than at the gulf!) !

= example of  taking words back to the root

Bre’shyit = bet resh alaph shin yod tov

          - Take apart prefix and suffix we remove

          1. bet =  which means “to be inside” and remove
          2. yod and tov which gives its feminine singular meaning

The root is = resh aleph shin = “to cause something to enter into motion”

          - Produces action....

           - Translated as “beginning, first, first fruits, chief, head,      some”,

-   Brad also suggests - that this is a title and expression of the Messiah ...
-   a word that refers to: “He that begins all things”...

-   It does not refer to time - not time because we don’t have heaven and earth yet .... time is a dimension and time has to have matter or mass in order for there to be time...

-    We have to have something to measure time by -  otherwise can’t have “time”.

-   YHUH is outside of time and not subject to matter or mass.

-    YHUH can become a man in time and dwell with us.. and yet still be a spirit... because He is Alohiym and He is multidimensional...

-   He can do that...  when He takes on flesh he dwells on man... THEN there is something to measure by... (has to have flesh to die for the people)

The 1st 7 words of Torah constantly show us who is responsible for bringing time and matter into existence.

B’re’shiyt is often
Translated  ROSH =
If you look on page 3 in your manual you can see references for where this word is translated as ...

          Ezra 1:5 “head” = chief
B’rehity 2:10 / 3:15  “heads” - rivers and head of serpent    “head”  (bruise = crush)

B’midbar 1:2 = “sum” title of Messiah... WHO.... a source of all things... not referring to time....  but a person... a title.

As we study Hebrew words.. words that we would generally see as positive words...
As we trace them (all the positive words) back we find they are related to similar background of meaning of:
=== something that is collected together/made whole/gathered together and drawn into one.

And as we search back negative words - we are going to see that they (all the negative words!)  also share similar meaning of:
=== taking something and breaking it/crushing it/destroying so not useful for designed purpose...

The beginning word or Torah -  “B’resheet” - goes back to gathering things and making them whole.

Revelation 1:8 beginning and ending...  I am...
                    1:17-18
3:14 to the angel of the church... the faithful and true           witness the beginning....

Not understanding this one can draw conclusion that Messiah is part of creation.. no this is a title... he exists... there is no explanation.

Most religions explain where their god came from -
But Scripture does not do this....
-God exists He just is and we don’t know how He got there....

Bayit -
Bayit enlarged in the text = faces the opening of the house... this letter is facing all the rest of scripture all the rest of the Words...
In pictograph = tent like structure... and we know that based on pictographs...  (paleo Hebrew has gone through a shifting evolution... turning letters....  by the time we get to even Dead Sea Scroll =  we get to the opening to the left... we really don’t know if that is how it was in the beginning.... but we know it is a consistent picture of a house or tent like structure.)

The point is --
-all the Word starts with a house...
and all things of Yah will be in the house and everything not of house will be outside of house...

Mattityahu 13:1 p 688
“the same yom Yahusha went out of the bayit, and sat by the seaside. (Seaside would have been west of where He was!)

This is why - in the parable of the sower.. Yahusha went out of house and went to the West... with the purpose of bringing them back to the house.
When we think of those who are lost - they are in the West...

{Yabal = yod bet lamid   = to take by the hand and lead to the house and have a family.}

So YHUH begins Torah with  - the house...

He sets it perfect... but man falls... and in order for man to be in  Yah’s house... He has to bring them back to His house

Heb 3:1-6  p 815  “faithful to him that appointed him....as Moshe was faithful in his house...”
“He who has built the house has more honor than he who is the house...”  = Refers to Messiah as one who built the house and Moshe as the house.
vs 4 every house built by some man... but he that built all things is YHUH.  = indirect reference to the Messiah here.

Messiah, as a son over his own house, whose house are we if we hold fast...?

We are referred to as the house, He is referred to as the son or builder... b/c in Hebrew, a builder word is the same word as the word for son...

There is also play on words in Matt 16:15-20 p 691
As Kepha confesses who messiah is... and Messiah says in 16:18  “and upon this Rock I will restore...” - This is a play on words with “builder” and “son”... that you can’t see in English...

house of Yah -
Ephsiyah (Ephesians) 2:19-22  p 884
In 2:20 = “Rosh Pina” = corner stone in beginning

B’re’shiyt 6:14  p 12 -in the building of the Ark.. ...
The image that is being drawn here is  a great disaster and Yah is going to protect his people... by placing them into this great HOUSE... an ark not a boat... They will be placed in there and protected !!!

Ivrim (Hebrews) 1:10 P 814
“And, You, YHUH, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the shamayim are the works of Your hands:”

= YHUH has laid the foundation....  foundation of ONE temple/ONE tabernacle/ONE house... and that is when you lay the corner stone which is the Messiah....

We must know....
“All things begin in B’resheet 1 - not at Pentecost!!!”

Yochanan  (John) 1:1 p 754
“B’re’shiyt was the Word, the Living Torah, and the Living Torah was with YHUH and the Living Torah was YHUH.”

This starts with a title establishing who “God” / Elohiym / YHUH  is.

MENORAH --

Debarim (Deut) 32:4 p 163
“He is the Rock, His work is perfect:  for all His halachot are just: an Al of emet and without iniquity, tzadik and right is He.”

“He is the rock”   = verifies that his work was perfect... 7 words.. also the number of completeness....

7 words form a menorah...  7 branches including a servant branch...

One side of Menorah:
          B’re’shiyt Barah Alohim
                    in the beginning Yah created

On the other side...  the object of his creation -
          ha Shamayim v-et ha-aretz
                    the heavens and the earth

In the middle  = the Aleph Tov

Let’s look at that picture of the Menorah with the Commandments:

Yah’s commandments are divided up that way

-1st 4 = worship of Yah
-Last 5 relationship with man
-What separates them is the Shabbat = “a covenant sign between you and me”...  = the Messiah himself...

Some people asked why begin with a bet and not an aleph...
Because - Yah had no beginning
That is why he starts out with His house

This also refers to all seen and all unseen matter
Qorintyah Bet (2 Corin.) 4:18 p 867
“We look not and gilah (rejoice) not at the things, that are seen, but at the things that are not seen:  for the things that are seen are temporal; but the things that are not seen are le-olam-va-ed.”

Again - remember we have the natural so we understand the spiritual.
Another way to say this is - YHUH has given us the seen so we can understand the unseen.

Torah Portion Terumah - Contributions - A Deeper Look at the Mishkan

13 February 2016  ~  4 Adar I  5776
Torah Parashah -  T ‘rumah ~ “Contributions”
Sh’mot (Exodus) 25:1- 27:19  RSTNE p 67

"YHWH speaks from the Covenant" - Harbour Light Ministries

Torah:

The last  two weeks were the ratification of the Book of the Covenant.

Moshe went up and down Mt Sinai meeting with YHWH and then the people Yisra’el.

The 10 Living Words were given to Moshe

Many mishpatim were given

Sh’mot 24 - is the covenant ceremony with the people (ami) Yisra’el saying in
Sh’mot 24:7  “All that YHWH has said we will do, and be obedient.”

Sh’mot 24:12  p 66
Tablets of stone were given- and a “Torah” and “mitzvoth”....

Last week’s parashah ends with
Sh’mot 24:18 - “Moshe was in the mount 40 days and 40 nights”

We all know what happens after the 40 days and 40 nights....

-   the Golden Calf....
-   and Moshe smashes the tablets...

But today’s Parashah - T’rumah - “Contributions”
we are going to look at some of what YHWH gave Moshe while he was still up on the mountain....

We start the 7 chapters of instructions for building the Mishkan (Tabernacle)

Sh’mot 25:1 with and offering - given “willingly with his lev (heart)”

This offering was to go to making the Mishkan and the instruments of it ...

Great detailed instructions given for:

          the ark
the shulchan (table) where the Lechem ha Panayim (bread of the                    face - presence)
          the menorah

          curtains and hooks and walls
          altar of acacia wood
          outer courtyard

What’s the big deal about this parashah - besides it is simply how to build the Mishkan....?

Let’s back up a bit...

remember these people - ami Yisra’el - are  - or were slaves...

Slaves might have food and water... but they don’t have wealth...

But remember, before they left - the Egyptians were giving them wealth!!

What would be the reason?? - as they weren’t going to go buy anything...

Water came from the rock, their clothes and shoes didn’t wear out...  manna was their food....

Now here in this parashah we see - why the wealth....

To build a place for YHWH to live among them.... !!

Sh’mot 25: 8
YHWH said...
“And let them make Me a Kadosh Place: that I may dwell among them.”

And look at the requirement for giving ...

Sh’mot 25:2
          “”gives willingly with his heart”

So this is about giving.... from our hearts... of “stuff”... and of TIME!!...  (because it was going to take a lot of time to build all this!!)

It is a choice...  volunteering....

Today He makes His home in our bodies....  because we CHOOSE....  we have to give willingly of our hearts, and our time, and our stuff is also given willingly.

**

Let’s look at this parashah in a different way...
We know that in Sh’mot 24:12 - YHWH tells Moshe what is going to happen on the mountain...
“And YHWH said to Moshe, Come up to Me into the mount, and be there: and I will give you tablets of stone, and a Torah and mitzvoth that I have written;  that you may teach them.”

And then there is the big time out... for all these 7 chapters of instructions....  and then is the Golden Calf story...

Why wouldn’t the instructions be put in the Torah - right before the Mishkan is built....  why here??

What if the instructions are what is really happening during the time Moshe is on the mountain??

What if he is actually getting a tour of the Mishkan in the heavenlies... actually seeing it??  !!

Think about this... Moshe doesn’t have to be on Mt Sinai - for YHWH to speak to him... Moshe has been getting instructions from YHWH right along....

So what if Mt Senai is about something else??

                    (some notes from Aleph Beta)

-   a POINT OF CONTACT -

**
Let’s look at this...instruction giving....

In parashah Vayak’hel - coming up
the instructions are written  - in order of the way things were built....

the outside first....

but here in T’rumah - the first instructions are about the furniture....

and later when YHWH explains where to put the altar

He says........in front of the curtain which is before the ark’s cover which is on top of the tablets of stone....

He doesn’t just say  - “put it in front of the curtain”

The text makes it clear that the altar does not have its own position - it’s just in relation to the tablets in the ark!!

Another thing....

the name of the Mishkan...
It is often referred to as “Tent of Meeting”

Sh’mot 25:22

Tells us where YHWH will speak from....
not just any place... but on top of the Ark’s cover between the two Cherubs....

and this is repeated later in Sh’mot 30:6
“Where I will meet with you”

Then by calling it the “Tent of Meeting” - the Torah actually defines the Mishkan by the function of one thing -- the Tablets inside the Ark...!!

and throughout the Torah - the tablets are called - “The Tablets of Testimony”  = The tablets are testimony of the revelation at Sinai.

Later, in Parashah Pekudei the Mishkan is called the “Mishkan of Testimony”

again - it is about the function of the tablets.

WHY??

Everything about the Mishkan  is focused around the tablets!!

The tablets aren’t just a bunch of laws....

they are a constitution....  “The symbolic representation of the most fundamental values upon which a nation is founded.”

It is a constant reminder of who they are and what they believe.

The Mishkan is how we guard and protect the tablets...

The Mishkan was the center of the camp - and everyone camped around it.

YHWH meets with us and speaks with us from atop the tablets - the values...

So why did he get these instructions on Sinai...

BECAUSE YHWH is saying.... these are the basis for your nation.... and this is how to protect it....

And to look at it further - The Tablets - the Written Word - are the Mashiach!! -

Just as Yahusha is the Living Word....  These tablets are the written Word....  !!

Now let’s look at the Mishkan another way....

= as the type and shadow of Mashiach ...

The Mishkan (tabernacle) consisted of a tent-like structure (the tabernacle proper) covered by rug-like coverings for a roof, and an external courtyard (150 feet by 75 feet). The whole compound was surrounded by a high fence about 7 feet in height.

The fence was made of linen hangings held by pillars.
The tent (tabernacle proper) was divided into the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies.

The tent was made of acacia wood boards overlaid with gold and fitted together to form the walls, measuring 45 by 15 feet. On top, four layers of curtains acted as a roof to shield the tabernacle from sun and rain: The innermost layer was woven with fine linen and embroidered with figures of cherubim (angels), the second layer was made of goat’s hair, the third layer was made of rams’ skins dyed red, and the outermost layer was made of porpoise skins.

The curtains were pinned to the ground with loops and clasps.

The Gate:

Yochanan (John) 14:6 p 770
“Yahusha said to him, I am the Derech, the Emet, and the Chayim:  no man comes to My abba except through Me.”

Yochanan 10:9 p 765
“I am the door: by Me if any m an enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

The act of entering the gate to the tabernacle was significant to the Israelites. By entering, one could find forgiveness of sin and fellowship with God.

The Brazen altar and sacrifices:

Vayikra (Leviticus) 1:4 p 81
And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering: and it shall be accepted for him to make keporah for him.”

Vayikra 17:11 p 94
“For it is the chayim of all flesh;  the dahm of it is for Yisra’el, You shall eat the dahm of no manner of flesh for the chayim of all flesh is the dahm of it:  whoever eats it shall be cut off.”
Hebrews 9:22 p 819
“And almost all things are by the Torah purged with dahm:  and without the shedding of dahm there is no forgiveness.”

The Laver

Ivrim (Hebrews) 10:22 p 820
“Let us draw near with a true lev in full assurance of emunah, having our levavot sprinkled with an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure mayim.”

Washing = cleansing....

The Lamp stand - Menorah

Yochanan 8:12 p 763
“Then spoke Yahusha again to them, saying, I am the light of the olam hazeh:  he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of chayim.”

Yochanan 12:46 p 769
“I have come a Light into the olam hazeh that whoever believes on Me should not live in darkness.”

Table of Show Bread

Yochanan 6:36
“And Yahusha went up into a mountain, and there He sat with His talmidim.”

Yochanan 6:50
“This is the lechem that comes down from the shamayim that a man may eat of it, and not die.”

Mattityahu 26:26
“And as they were eating, Yahusha took lechem, and made the bracha, and broke it, and gave it to the talmidim and said, Take, eat: this is My body.”

Gilyahna (Revelation) 3:20
“See, I stand at the door, and knock:  if any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

Altar of Incense

incense = symbol of prayer

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 56:7 p 339

Gilyahna 8:3-4 p 915

Yochanan 17: 1-26 p 772

Romans 8:34 p 844
“Who is the only One that could condemn His chosen people?  It is the Moshiach who died, yes.  But instead of condemning us, He has risen, to the right hand of YHWH, and He now makes intercession for us.”

Yochanan 14:13-14 p 770

Yakov (James 5:15-16 p 813

Ark of the Covenant

Containing the Mitzvoth - Torah... Living Torah = Mashiach

Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 37:16 p 321
“”O YHWH, tzevaoth, Elohim of Yisra’el, You who live between the chervuim, You are the Elohim, even You alone, of all the malchutim of the earth:  You alone have made the shamayim and the earth.”

Schmuel bet (2 Samuel) 6:2 p 231
“And Dawid arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Ba-Ale of Yahudah, to bring up from there the Ark of Elohim, whose name is called by the Name of YHWH tzevaoth that dwells between the cheruvim.”

From Refiner’s Fire:

k'ruvim (cherubim) must have held some huge significance for YHWH that we can't begin to comprehend. They were clearly not something the people worshiped; YHWH had commanded that man not make images of Him, yet He clearly commanded images of the k'ruvim throughout the tabernacle. Not only did two of these beings grace the ark (Exodus 25:18-21), but YHWH ordered them "worked into" the woven linen walls and curtains of the Tabernacle (Exodus 26:1, 31). The people must have known what they were and what they looked like, because Moshe doesn't explain them anywhere.
According to the Glossary in Stern's Complete Jewish Bible, p. 1578, k'ruvim are: Heavenly creatures (angels) who guarded the way to the Tree of Life in Gan 'Eden (Genesis 3:24), were described by Ezekiel as having four faces and four wings (Ezekiel 10:20-21), and were ridden by God (Psalm 18:11(10); compare the "living beings" of Rev 4:6. The term also refers to the gold-overlaid wooden images of same, constructed in obedience to God's command, which overshadowed the ark of the covenant in the tabernacle and in the temple. (Please take a few moments to read the above-mentioned references!)

B're'shiyt Teaching - words Elohiym and ET / Aleph Tov Feb 1

{Third word in B’re’shiyt - Elohiym}

Sh’ma

 **
1 Feb 2014  ~  1 Adar 1  5774
Torah parashah - T’rumah - contributions

Sh’mot /Exodus 25:1-27:18  cjb p 88

YHWH gives Moshe instructions on taking up a collection from “anyone who wholeheartedly wants to give”....
and goes on to instruct Moshe on how and what to build for the tabernacle.
He starts with the ark, and then goes to the table, and then the Menorah - the furnishing for the Kadosh of Kadoshiym.  ... and then He goes on to how to build the tabernacle.

The word “T’rumah” is a special type of offering that can be given for any work of YHWH and it means - the best part.  It doesn’t say how much this should be - just that they who give should give wholeheartedly.

There is no English word that explains this... but it is often translated as “heave offering”....  with the image being - gifts lifted up on to or heaved on the altar.

These are gifts that brought closeness with YHWH.  Sacrifice of the first born and gifts of first fruits are considered in the Word as T’rumah.  General tithes were often called T’rumah as well.

The T’rumah is a type and picture of Messiah Yahushua... who willingly gave his life as an offering for all mankind.

We can give T’rumah to YHWH ...  by not being conformed to this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds -Rom 12:1-2

and
Yechezk’el /Ezekiel 44:5 cjb p 700.... “YHWH said to me, ‘Human being, pay attention; see with your eyes and hear with your ears everything I tell you about all the regulations of YHWH’s house’...”

In this Torah portion YHWH gave instructions on how to build the furnishings of the tabernacle and the tabernacle itself.... and the people did it.  They didn’t just hear and say - “oh that’s nice.. i know it so i believe it”...  They DID it.  = Sh’ma!

*
This week YHWH opened my eyes even more than before... to the famine in the land... the famine that His Word says in

Amos 8:11 cjb p 740
“The time is coming says YHWH Elohiym, when i will send famine over the land, not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of YHWH.”

I see even more clearly that people - people who are sincere about what they believe... do not know - and are not able to discern because they don’t know Torah well enough....

What is of the tree of Life and what is of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Remember, things that are good are not necessarily of YHWH.... and not only does the world not know this, but christianity - even the shepherds, do NOT know this!

I see more clearly that they also do not understand Torah - and are not able to understand the end of the book - because they don’t understand the first part....

My heart grieves...

The pastor i was talking to even quoted “Proverbs 29:18 - as without wisdom my people perish.”

The Complete Jewish says...
Mishlei 29:18 cjb p 988...
“Without a prophetic vision, the people throw off all restraint; but he who keeps Torah is happy.”

Meaning... the “wisdom” that one needs is TORAH.... and if you don’t understand the beginning - you can’t understand the end.

And there i was with this person....  who wanted to know about the end of days...

Who even had the discernment to say...

“I listen to what the men are teaching the youth and they say - hurry and accept Jesus so you can be raptured and not have to be here for the tribulation.” and this pastor went on to say... “It just doesn’t seem like that is all we should be teaching.”... but had no idea what was missing....

Where does one start with this??

The Moedim of YHWH.... ?

the fact that the Torah does not say that YHWH’s people will be raptured out and not be here for tribulation....?...

And this person had no idea of the new age in the community or christianity itself....

and this person has more discernment than most pastors!!

So we can go back to the last couple weeks’ teachings and remember what Rav Shaul said... in

Ma’sey hash - sh’liyechiym / Acts 20:29 cjb p 1389
“I know that after i leave, savage wolves will come in among you; and they won’t spare the flock.  30 Even from among your own number, men will arise and teach perversions of the truth in order to drag you away with the talmidim after themselves.”

Or what Mashiach said in ...
Mattityahu 7:15 cjb p 1231
“Beware of the false prophets!  They come to you wearing sheep’s clothing but underneath they are hungry wolves!”

Or back up to the Neviym /prophets...
Yechezk’el /Ezekiel 22:26-27 cjb p 667
“Her cohanim have done violence to my Torah, profaned my holy things, made no difference between the holy and the common, not distinguished between unclean and clean, hidden their eyes from my shabbats, and profaned me among themselves.  27 Her leaders in it are like wolves tearing up the prey to shed blood and destroy people, in order to benefit unjustly.”

**
YHWH put it so deeply on my heart that what we are doing here at HLM is becoming more and more about HIS Torah, HIS Emet/Truth... and moving us further and further away from the lies of hasatan... and HE is teaching us to return/ to Teshuvah back to the aretz chaiym (tree of life) and to no longer eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  Praise YHWH!!

But how my heart is grieved for so many so deceived.

This is precisely why we must STUDY Torah - the whole book...  !

**  **  **  **  **  **
Today we are going to start with the third word of B’re’shiyt --Elohiym, based on much study and teaching by Brad Scott.

But first - let’s review just a little bit...

We have a couple pictures that we learned go with B’re’shiyt...

The Menorah - which is a visual for the first sentence - 7 words of the Torah.  With Yahushua / the ET (Aleph Tov) as the servant candle in the middle.
On one side we have - B’re’shiyt bara Elohiym (YHWH)
On the other side we have - hashamayim v’et ha’aretz (creation)
and the connection between YHWH and creation is - the servant candle, the “v’et” the Aleph Tov!

We also have the introduction of the picture of the house on a piece of land with a family.... and this picture sums up the whole Torah.

Remember the very first letter of Torah is a BET and that means house... and it is YHWH’s house we are talking about... and all of Torah comes out of that first letter -the BET.  ...

and the purpose of Mashiach....

Mattityahu 13:1 cjb p 1239
“That same day, Y’shua went out of the house and sat down by the lake , but such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat there while the crowd stood on the shore...”

“out of the house” = outside the court of the Tabernacle = “the HOUSE”
This teaching is foundational on the principal of the seed... and that is that YHWH’s family is born from His seed - the Torah/ Word - and not from man’s seed / blood and sperm.

The phrase - “to go out of the house” in Hebrew thinking is to leave from the East and go to the West.

The word that has been translated as “shore” is “yam” in Hebrew and it is the same word as “west”... and who is represented by the west - those “out of the house” of YHWH - His beit haMichdash.
- Those out of the House of YHWH are those out of covenant or, said more clearly --- those not keeping Torah.

-  “....sat down by the lake” - “lake” = the Hebrew meaning here is - a great multitude = the Northern Kingdom of Isra’el.

So... what we have:  ...That same day, Y’shua went out of YHWH’s house - the beit hamichdash (the Temple of YHWH),  and went to the West - into the Kingdom of Isra’el - the Northern Kingdom  ... with the purpose of bringing them  - the people of the Northern Kingdom - those out of covenant - also known as Isra’el ----back to the house..

....actually doing what He came to do.!!!..

Mattityahu 15:24 cjb p 1243
“He said, ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Isra’el.’”

We consistently see that the mission of Yahushau haMashiach...

 ...IS........

...“To go to His people, - Isra’el - and take by the  hand, and lead them back to the House - the beit hamichdash - b/c they keep Torah there -that is where Torah comes from ... and there... they are a family.”

= a house on a piece of land and a family.
= Isra’el.

**  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **  **

We are on page 7 of Brad Scott’s study guide.

Elohiym

... is a noun referring to YHWH that in this first sentence follows a verb.

If you go back to page three of the study guide, you  can read the first sentence...

B’re’shiyt bara Elohiym ET hashamayim v’et ha’aretz.

In the beginning created Elohiym the heaven and the earth.

Elohiym

= aleph -lamed - hey - yod mem

Elohiym... has im or iym on end... and we know that a lot of the time in Hebrew this means the word is plural. ...

Elohiym comes from the root - EL  = an aleph and a lamed.

Elohiym  is translated as- god, and deity, and rulers.

El = “strong leader” in pictograph  (which is on the top of page 7 in your study guide.)

The ram would have been one of the most powerful things people would have seen then...

El is translated into “mighty one”...

but with the suffix “hiym” - we know that “iym” means PLURAL...

So we have to look at the context of the word...

Elohiym - is in the plural... BUT its verb - BARA- is in the singular.

In Hebrew - iym on the end of a word can make the word mean several things...
- it often means plural... many
-  but in Hebrew it also is a way of saying - ‘one that is really really big or significant.’

In B’re’shiyt 1:1 B’re’shiyt bara Elohiym...  the verb of that sentence we said is...BARA...
... and BARA - is in the qal stem perfect - and that means it is singular, masculine and complete....

...so the one who did the BARA - “ing” - is ONE and He is masculine and what He did was a completed work.

If we look at B’re’shiyt 22:8 cjb p 21
“Avraham replied, “Elohiym will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering my son: and they both went on together.”

In this verse - Elohiym is plural and the “providing” is singular...  identifying the ONE Elohiym of Avraham, Yitz’chak and Ya’akov.

Scott says....There are different ways this verse gets translated...

“Some teach that Yahushua /Y’shua - is YHWH in the flesh,
and they see this as Avraham saying that YHWH will provide himself as the offering”...

....and Brad talks about this... saying that he believes that YHWH actually backs this idea =

- that YHWH will provide Himself as the offering...

.. b/c what happens?

A RAM is provided.

Now let me remind you that....
.... when YHWH made covenant with Avraham (B’re’shiyt 15 cjb p 14)...
He made Avraham go to sleep... and ONLY  YHWH walked between the animal halves....

This is how covenant was made - both parties making covenant ... walked between the halves...

=saying / meaning - “If i break this covenant  - let it be done to me as was done to these animals...”

Only “man,” or in this case Avraham, did NOT walk between the halves...

only -- YHWH did...

So right there HE was saying - “I will die if I don’t keep this covenant

and I will die if you don’t keep this covenant.”

so back to this story of the potential sacrifice of Yitz’chak /Isaac - YHWH provided a RAM.

Brad Scott says...
Isn’t this interesting that it is a ram... it could have been any clean animal... but it was a RAM.

The Hebrew word for RAM  is “ayeal”  and that is a cognate or family word for Elohiym in Hebrew.
The word “ayeal” describes the strength of the creator!

Of all the things that he could have provided...  YHWH provided something that represents the strength of YHWH Himself.

Do you see how he was restating the covenant he made with Avraham in the first place - there on the mountain... with Yitz’Chak/ Isaac - there on the same place that was later to become Jerusalem... and the very same place where Yahushua /Y’shua was sacrificed on the stake...??? !!!

**  **  **
There are other elohiyms in the Word... they are false gods - and we can see that in the text...
Yirmeyahu /Jeremiah 10:10-12 cjb p 566
“But YHWH, Elohiym is the true elohiym, the living Elohiym, the everlasting king.  At his anger, the earth trembles; and nations cannot endure his fury.  11 This is what you must say to them; ‘The elohiym that did not make heaven and earth will perish from earth and from under heaven.”

{This is why YHWH says His name is important! }

YHWH is saying ... The ONE that created is the ONLY Elohiym/God.

So the word Elohiym must be understood in its context.
All we know about the TRUE Elohiym/ God unfolds in Scripture...

At this point in B’re’shiyt 1  we don’t yet have the the revelation of the name - YHWH.

The term/name YHWH is about relationship... and we don’t see that until B’re’shiyt 2.

Brad says...
the word or title --“ELOHIYM” describes the Creator as He relates to His creation ...

It all begins with HIM because HE is the beginning...
It all relates to His power and creative activity....

Elohiym is His nature as it relates to creation...
Only when man is fully formed do we have YHWH as a distinction from Elohiym... (we’ll get to that later).

“The universe does not begin with matter, nor the heavenlies, ... but it begins with ELOHIYM .. . because HE is the beginning; “the B’re’shiyt”...
-remember we said that...

B’RE’SHIYT can be what starts something in motion - the beginning of the motion - or WHO starts something into motion....

Please note on the bottom of page 7 ...
“Only when creation is finished and man if fully formed do we have “LORD” as a distinction.”

Why is LORD in capitol letters?
Because the people that translated - took out the name of YHWH over 7,000 times and put in other things.
LORD is always one of the places that used to say YHWH.

*
So we know that ELOHIYM in B’re’shiyt 1:1 means THEE ONE TRUE AND LIVING ELOHIYM....  who is so big we put IYM on the end to say how big HE is....
... and since BARA is qal stem perfect... it means that who ever did the BARA-ing... was ONE / singular, was masculine and it was a completed work.

So ELOHIYM - the ONE who did that - is saying ... “THEE ONE really really big EL/ god.”

amein.

**
Let’s look at the fourth word of Torah...

B’re’shiyt bara Elohiym ‘ET....

‘ET .....

We are on the top of page 8 in the study guide.

The ‘et - as it is pronounced  is - in Hebrew - the letters...
 ALEPH and  TOV.

Isn’t that odd - not even a “word” per say... just two letters there?!!....

It isn’t even translated into English!

Scott says ... “When we see aleph and tov standing all by itself - this is and should be a special interest to us.”

Most commentaries on Tanakh do not address this....
Hebrew scholars agree it is a SOD... something with much deeper meaning...

Yesha’Yahu /Isaiah 41:4 cjb p 498
“Whose work is this?  Who has brought it about? He who called the generations from the beginning, I YHWH am the Aleph /first and I am the same with those who are the Tov/last.”

Aleph and Tov - what is this?

Gillianyah / Revelation 1:8 cjb p 1533
The Mashiach/ Messiah is speaking...
“I am the A and the Z, says YHWH, Elohiym of heaven’s armies, the One who is, who was and who is coming.”

Gillianyah / Revelation 22:13 cjb p 1555
again the Mashiach is speaking...
“I am the A and the Z, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

In Greek translations of the original Hebrew it reads... “I am the alpha and the omega...”

But in the Hebrew it would be ...
“I am the Aleph and the Tov, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Who is the Aleph and the Tov?

-The Mashiach / Messiah... who is YHWH.

So right there in B’re’shiyt - it tells us - in what manifestation YHWH created... BARA’ed...
= the Mashiach!

Brad says...
“B/c the Word of  YHWH is created by the mother tongue - the 22 Hebrew letters ...
...and those 22 letters are represented by the Aleph and the Tov... and that represents the whole aleph bet which form words in Hebrew...

....so this refers to all of the aleph bet!”

So here with are in B’re’shiyt 1... right in the middle of this verse/ this sentence - we have an identification that YHWH has placed in the text.... that separates and unites... YHWH and His creation...

just like we already explained - the picture is the Menorah!

So YHWH has given us a sign from the very beginning and HE uses that sign at least 80 times...  the Aleph and the Tov standing alone in Torah... Identifying who YHWH is.

Brad gives a few of the references on P 8 in your study guide.

He is the Beginning and the End.

As YHWH took on flesh and dwelt among us... we see according to the Word that HE is also the creator!

The Aleph and the Tov - follows directly after ELOHIYM... and represents ELOHIYM.

So now...  Yochanan 1:1 should mean something more than just a statement...

Yochanan /John 1:1 cjb p 1329
cjb = “In the beginning was the Word and the Word with with God and the Word was God.”

Better translated Yochanan 1:1 would read:

“B’re’shiyt was the Living Torah and the ET (Aleph Tov) was with YHWH and the ET (Aleph Tov) was YHWH.”

and what does this reference??  - right back to B’re’shiyt 1:1 !!!

the Aleph Tov is YHWH

BUT B’re’shiyt makes a differentiation between the “jepedo” - making people ...to letting us know that the ONE Elohiym brought things from the unseen and made them seen... through His Word and His Word IS Him.

Although the Aleph Tov describes YHWH
the Torah says that there is an identification that Messiah is going to give to the tribe of Judah when walking on the earth...

==the oat/sign - having to do with his crucifiction / the sign...

Brad says...
....it is not a coincidence that we take the two letters that speak all throughout the tanakh... that right in the middle of the Aleph and the Tov - is the Hebrew letter for the nail - the vav...

the Messiah says this shall be a sign... the Aleph Tov forming the basis of the word, and the vav - the hebrew letter for the nail
aleph - vav- tav = sign/oat...

Hebrew scholars believe this is a sod teaching...
most Hebrew teachings /Jewish teachings don’t address this.... of what the Aleph Tov could possibly mean..

We already looked at
Yesha’Yahu /Isaiah 41:4 cjb p 498
“Whose work is this?  Who has brought it about? He who called the generations from the beginning, I YHWH am the Aleph /first and I am the same with those who are the Tov/last.”

“Who has brought it about” - is an identifier...
“I YHWH the first and with the last - the Aleph and the Tov... that is who i am.”

Yahushua/ Y’shua says this and confirms this when Pharisees confront him and He says...

“Before Abraham I am”

and also in Revelation ... the Aleph Tov

the Aleph and the Tov... full understanding of the word - points to the Creator and who He is and how He created -

-- through the 22 letters He created the seen and unseen matter!

*

Some highlights of some Aleph Tov scriptures

Z’kharyah /Zechariah 12:10 cjb p 782
“and i will pour out on the house of David and on those living in Yerushalayim a spirit of grace and prayer and they will look to Me - ALEPH TOV -  whom they pierced.”

Yesha’Yahu /Isaiah 53:6 cjb p 521
“We all like sheep, went astray; we turned each one, to his own way; and yet YHWH laid on him - Aleph Tov-  the guilt of all of us.”

-- Once again, this is identifying - who is doing these things...

The only Mashiach is the only Aleph Tov.

There is only ONE

YHWH is constantly reaching out to man to describe the nature of the Mashiach.

Sh’mot 25:8-9 cjb p 88 - from today’s Torah Parashah
“They are to make me a sanctuary, so that I may live among them. 9 You are to make it according to everything i show you - the design of the tabernacle and the design of its furnishings.  This is how you are to make it.”

Where the CJB says.. “according to everything”...  it has been translated “after the pattern”

this word “pattern” is “tavnits” in Hebrew... and it is fro the root
bain/ben - to build or son) = the Aleph Tov....

= the pattern already drawn by YHWH of His benah/ plan for restoration... the Aleph and Tov - Mashiach ...

... and ..the tabernacle is the representation of that pattern..

Moshe saw this pattern... So Moshe saw the Messiah!

This is why it was imperative that YHWH said Moshe had to build the tabernacle exactly as he was shown... b/c the tabernacle and its furnishings is an expression of Mashiach...

and if anyone changes it.. then you added to or subtracted from His Word... (that would be a very bad things according to the Word!)

*
The Ark of Covenant in Sh’mot /Ex 25:22 cjb p 88
“There I will meet with you. I will speak with you from above the ark-cover, from between the two k’ruvim which are on the ark for the testimony Aleph Tov about all the orders I am giving you for the people of Isra’el.

-The Aleph Tov - the testimony is directly related to the Mashiach Himself.

*
In the story of Yoseph revealing himself to his 11 brothers
the Aleph Tov is in that story - B’re’shiyt 37-50

The standing alone Aleph Tov appears in that story - standing alone exactly 12 times - each time representing a tribe of Isra’el.

**

So in summary we can say that

ELOHIYM in B’re’shiyt 1:1 means that THEE one really amazing bigger than all the rest - GOD - Bara’ed ... and because it is with the word BARA - it means that this ELOHIYM is masculine, is ONE and did a completed work right there in the first sentence.

ET - the Aleph Tov - is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End... Yahushua haMashiach ... YHWH come in the flesh... clarifying what manifestation of YHWH did the BARA-ing.

**

May we continue to study Torah - “to be approved” and to know the Emet so well that we can always discern what is of YHWH and what is not.

AMEIN.
